Great experience in spending one night at Diên homestay, got the chance to have dinner/lunch with the owner. Suggest to have lunch/dinner over there at reasonable price and also considering the food is cooked fresh and get to try local dishes :)

The family were very nice and friendly. We ate dinner with them, cost 150k which I thought was reasonable for the amount of food, with delicious vegetarian options and happy water included. The view from the room was beautiful, much nicer than we expected after we saw the photos.

Shortly after we arrived, we saw that a tour group was also staying at this property. They were singing karaoke very loudly late at night. The hosts should have warned us about this before our stay - what should have been a peaceful night in the mountains was like staying next to a club in a busy city. Very disappointing as this was our last night on the Ha Giang loop. It rained heavily overnight and water leaked into the room, soaking the floor and our bags. The people in the room next to us said water leaked onto them while they were in bed, which is even worse. No heating or air con (only a fan), so not a great place to stay if the weather is too hot or cold. No hand wash or shampoo, only sachets of shower gel. Overall, I’d recommend staying at this place if the weather is nice and there are no tour groups staying at the same time, but these things really let the place down for us.
