Yew Tree Cottage

The location and layout of the property was excellent. 2 private bedrooms a plus.

A dust pan and brush. Ants nest in one of the bathrooms.

It was a lovely cottage in Ambleside, quite close to bars and restaurants, very quiet, clean and comfortable. There was everything we needed and even a few games to play with the family. Having 2 ensuite bathrooms was also very comfortable.

Maybe there could have been some more hand soap which was at it's end when we arrived and a few more toilet rolls (there were only 2 but we bought more from the shop close by).

Just outside and above the town. Quiet - we didn't see or hear from any neighbours. Very spacious house. Perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Being one couple, we had plenty of space. Clean, warm enough, well-stocked. Nothing lacking at all.

The only very slight disappointment was that the garden is not actually enclosed so we couldn't let our dog out into the garden alone in case he wandered away. A wide field-type gate could solve this?

The location is fantastic

The whole property needs a deep clean. There was a dirty sock under the bed, it obviously has a pretty bad damp problem and putting lots of air fresheners is not the answer as it was over powering. There were no extras, no tea or coffee, no welcome pack which was disappointing. The sofas and carpet need professionally cleaning. Paint on the bathroom window was peeling off along with an ant infestation. It should be a fantastic property and with some TLC it could be, but in its current state, it’s over priced.
