GRASMERE COTTAGE

Warm comfortable cottage with all amenities and conveniences. Cosy but not cramped. Great place to stay at any time of the year. Parking included at the nearby Stock Lane Car Park. Secluded location near to Dove Cottage on the route for some amazing walks. Short walk into the centre of Grasmere.

There was no garden, however there was a sensory garden across the way where you could sit quietly and enjoy some outdoor tranquility. No views.

Nice stay at Dove Holme Cottage

Good location if you want to explore the Lake District but still very quiet and peaceful. Parking was only a few minutes away but a parking permit was provided upon arrival. The house looks lovely with all the necessary amenities.

The house wasn’t exceptionally clean upon arrival. Carpets and floors were still a bit dirty and the duvet on the bed was stained.

Beautiful little cottage that had everything we needed. Location is perfect for accessing most lakes. Great local walks and 5 minute walk into grasmere

Neighbours were a bit noisy at night which is just one of them things. Other than that, couldn’t ask or need for anything more.

Loved the quiet location. Lovely warm house with rustic charm. Includes all necessary cooking implements.

Parking is 0.2 miles away, so it’s a 5-7 minute walk to your car, but it doesn’t look like this can be helped.

Cozy and welcoming but not spotlessly clean.

The house was cozy, warm and welcoming. Had everything you could think of for a self careting holiday. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, crockery and cooking implements meaning we were able to cook and had everything we needed. The shower got nice and hot and had good pressure so after a cold walk it was amazing. The bedroom was spacious and had lots of storage for clothes and bags, the bed was big and very comfortable so we got a good night's sleep. The linens on the bed were comfortable and soft which aided in the good night's sleep. The log burner in the living room heated the room nicely and just added to the coziness. It was easy to light and get a good fire going.

Sadly the house was not clean to a holiday home standard. It's as clean as your own home would be but not the standard expected of a holiday home. There was a fine coat of dog hair around the house and in the kitchen drawers. I had to clean the cutlery and plates before I used them due to the dog hair on them. The sink in the kitchen had a small section where the silicone had become black and fallen down and was left dangling when we entered the property. There was mold around the silicone in the shower and hair left on the drain. Although the bed linens were soft and comfy there were some stains, a black stain on one of the pillow cases and what looks to be a coffee stain on another pillow case and the duvet cover.
