About this house rental
Our 1948 Mid-Century vacation home is nestled on 4 acres of beautiful open land. We welcome you to enjoy a unique and authentic experience jumping back in time with themed rooms ranging from Art Deco, Country Cottage, Groovy 1970’s, Vintage Tiki, and classic Mid-Century design. Our home sleeps up to 10 people with 2 Queen Beds, 2 Twin Beds, and 2 Double Sleeper Sofas. We also have 3 full baths and 2 half baths. Beyond having a charming 1950’s kitchen and spacious dining and living areas, we also have a 1970’s themed TV and Game Room stocked with over 30 games and puzzles, an authentic Tiki Bar with a peacock chair, wet bar, and bar supplies, a Children’s Playroom filled with books, toys, and a fort, as well as a Bridal Suite/Dressing Room with an Art Deco vanity that doubles as a bedroom - and outside, a six person hot tub available year-round!
From late Spring through Summer, we have a large 16x40ft pool (guaranteed to be open 5/26 - 9/5, but will do everything possible to have it open well before and after those dates based on weather!), lounge chairs, and outdoor eating areas. Year round, we have a six person hot tub, a wood burning firepit and spacious grounds to explore including a wood bridge and secret nature trail.
Our bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. We have over 100 books throughout the home for guests to enjoy. Our game room has an abundance of vinyl records and games. Our kitchen is stocked with cook/bakeware, cookbooks, and Lenox dish ware. We have 2 smart TVs (one off the kitchen and the other in the family room).
We are located just 15 minutes north of downtown Des Moines and are within a mile of a high end grocery store and shopping complex filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We believe the Des Moines area is a hidden gem with an abundance of fine dining, antique stores, high end boutiques, breweries, bike trails, the largest skate park in the country, live music, family activities, nature trails, lakes, and farmers markets.

Up to 2 dogs allowed for an additional fee.
***Events/photo shoots are allowed with written permission only and will be an added fee. No events larger than 25 total.***
Garage parking not available. Up to 6 cars can fit comfortably in driveway.

The house was wonderful - only issue was cleanliness. Several dead bugs on floor and dirty towels from last guest still hanging behind bathroom doors. Other than that everything was perfect!

We all LOVED this property! The home was decorated so fun! The layout was great w our variety of ages! We LOVED the pool & yard! We had a fun hike around the property..The screened in porch was perfect ! We all agree we’d like to come again! Thank you so much for all the great details & care you’ve put into your home!

This place was great for our reunion! So many different spaces to enjoy. We spent most of our time in the pool, screened porch, and the lounge in the basement. Highly recommended!!
