We wanted to stay in this ancient pottery village and there’s very little accommodation. This modern apartment is located within a long established and highly revered pottery, so the location could not have been better. We also wanted to visit the Miho Museum and it was just a short bus ride away.

Getting in was easy because of the instructions that were provided. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed dining with the handmade pottery they've left in the apartment. In the morning, we were able to meet the potter, who was extremely friendly to us even though we do not speak Japanese. She even opened the studio a few minutes early for us because she saw us walking around. We bought a few items from the studio and will cherish them.

The video check-in process was a bit awkward, and we could not figure out how to make it work despite multiple attempts. We recommend arriving during the in-person check-in window, which we were not able to do because we were on a challenging bicycle ride from Samegai. Also, we tried in earnest to correctly sort our garbage, though the instructions were rather lengthy and confusing.
