Villa Mila

After having our villa cancelled by Villa Plus (avoid like the plague if you’re even considering booking with them), we had less than 2 weeks to find a replacement property for 10 people. Thank the lord we found Villa Mila as, although the cost ended up being around £1000 more than our original villa, we could not have picked anywhere better. Location in Puerto Calero is incredible, with a private back entrance leaving you 5 minutes walk from the Marina and its selection of shops and eateries (all of which that we tried were excellent), and the supermarket less than 10 minutes walk in the other direction. If you’re considering visiting Lanzarote for the first time Puerto Calero is about a million times nicer than the more popular Puerto del Carmen, but Carmen is only a 10 minute drive if you’re after souvenirs, sports bars, Irish bars and miles of beach (and the shopping centre is pretty good too) Plenty of parking in a private, gated driveway (as well as two garage spaces) and as you’re at the end of a dead end road, you feel completely secluded and like you’re staying in a famous celebrity’s gaff. The property itself is served a massive injustice from the photos provided. It looks great in photos and that’s what sold it to us but the sheer size and facilities are second to none and have to be seen to be believed. The pool area alone is huge, there’s about 25 living areas and 6 bedrooms, along with no fewer than 9 toilets and showers. Oh and don’t forget the sauna and pool room/(2nd) kitchen and dining area…oh and the gym. It’s endless. The pool itself is ridiculous; holiday makers have absolutely zero right having the privilege to have such a large pool to privately use. Some may argue the more traditional decor is “old” or tired looking, and in truth, there are a few bits of wear and tear here and there but nothing that affects the stay and I can honestly say it’s the most incredible property we’ve ever stayed in.

The worst thing? The distance you have to walk back to your room if you’ve forgotten to bring something down to the pool :)

It is pure luxury! Absolutely huge- pool incredible as is outdoor area with its own kitchen and games room! Just brilliant! Also incredible hosts and the location is sooooo good! Just a short walk past the pool to get into town via a private gate! It’s just wonderful!

That I couldn’t stay longer!

Villa Mila must have the best position on the island for views, and easy access to restaurants via a private gate. Had a wonderful family holiday. Pool well looked after. Clean villa. A massive property with cinema room in the basement. Great for kids to cool off and chill in the hot afternoon. Heated pool made a big difference.

Both kitchens and most appliances are tired and in need of updating.
