The Space:
Nestled in the 500-year-old historic city of Old San Juan, the elegance and modern nature of Villa Gaudi is the ideal base camp to explore Old San Juan's history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Villa Gaudi conserves the structure of traditional Spanish architecture, with soaring ceilings, traditional rustic decor, and majestic floor-to-ceiling windows that offer tons of natural light and fantastic views of historic Old San Juan. Villa Gaudi's interior has been recently renovated to preserve its history while elevating comfort and coziness. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the living and dining area alongside an amazing and spacious terrace that overlooks the enchanting streets of Old San Juan. Its impeccable fine art will charm your way throughout the whole apartment. And by just opening the doors to the terrace you’ll embrace the coziness of fantastic outdoor space, the beautiful sight of the cobblestone street Calle del Sol and the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or sunset drink.
The apartment has air conditioning throughout, so you can beat the heat during the day and enjoy a relaxing sleep at night. Just a few steps away from Plaza de Armas, the apartment is right by easy shopping, convenience stores, and restaurants. Although laying in a calmer residential street, Villa Gaudi is a short walk from the nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastian and El Morro Spanish fort.

LIVING AREAS
Enter the apartment and you will be greeted by Villa Gaudi's open layout grand living and dining area. There is a modern black marble-like dining room, a beautiful L-shape sofa and a living room spacious enough to enjoy your favorite shows with a flat-screen TV, and three double doors that you can completely open to the terrace or leave closed with windows to let sunlight in. Beside the dining room, the renovated kitchen has everything you would need for an extended stay. Villa Gaudi has beautiful high cathedral ceilings that make the apartment feel very spacious.
The unit includes a washer and dryer in case you need to do some laundry while in San Juan.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
There are two bedrooms at Villa Gaudi – one master bedroom that features a king-size bed, air conditioning, a closet with hangers, a working station, a private bathroom, and a reading chair. The guest bedroom features one queen bed, air conditioning, and a closet with hangers as well as its own private bathroom.
PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.
KITCHEN
Villa Gaudi's kitchen was just updated with a spectacular Spanish tile "creole" style backsplash. In Puerto Rico, we say love enters your house right through the kitchen, so you and your group will surely spend time socializing and cooking in this beautiful space. There is a coffee maker, kettle, stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, and fridge. You’ll have enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap to comfortably start your stay. There is an amazing breakfast nook with a bistro-style table right beside the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows where guests can enjoy their breakfast while having partial views of Old San Juan.
The washer and dryer are also located in this area. They're not visible in the pictures but they are located towards the end of the kitchen behind closed doors.
GETTING AROUND
This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber.
If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate.
LOCATION
Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Villa Gaudi, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab or Uber from the airport and using Uber while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road-tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:
Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Breakfast at “La Mallorca”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway where you can start off at El Morro and finish the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.

This was our second time staying at this gorgeous villa. Once again, we had excellent communication with the manager (Davy). The check in instructions were easy to follow and when needed, Davy was super helpful and got back to us in a timely manner. The condo was spotless- the decor once again, magazine worthy. The beds were super comfortable with top notch linens with the best pillows ever! When we travel, we love to tackle the kitchen and attempt to create local authentic meals. Super Max, the grocery store, is really close - a short walk. The kitchen at Villa Gaudi afforded us the opportunity to make our meals without a hassle. It was well stocked with all of the necessary cooking equipment. The location of this condo is close to everything. I enjoyed my morning walks to the fort to people watch and capture the spectacular ocean view. If you like to shop, tour, visit local restaurants and bars, Villa Gaudi is the best location! No Uber needed. Overall, we rate Villa Gaudi 5 stars plus. We love Old San Juan, and this villa will always be our number one choice.

We stayed four nights at this property and enjoyed our stay The pictures and descriptions are very accurate for this property. Its location in Old San Juan is ideal for walking all around Old San Juan and both historical forts in the area. It is also an easy walk down to the pier, in case you want to make use of that when you stay. Parking was certainly a pain, but that is understandable given the location and was clearly communicated to us before we arrived. We had a car because we wanted to be able to reliably explore other parts of Puerto Rico, so the only recommendation I have here is to park either early in the day or no later than 3 PM. Once you wait until late afternoon or evening, parking garages filled up pretty quickly. Otherwise, I can say the beds and pillows were very comfortable and we slept well. The property was clean and the only nighttime noise we noticed was some local bars playing music until about midnight or a bit later, but again that is to be expected for this kind of location. Three strong dining recommendations for the area are: Café Cuatro Sombras (breakfast and coffee), Cafe Caleta (dinner), and Anita’s (gelato galore).

Sheet and pillow had what looked like blood stain.
Thrash was not taken out.
Air in the bedroom made a strange cluttering sound - made it hard to fall asleep.
