Cheerful house 3 bed 4 bath pool house

Overall, we had a good stay here. It was clean and spacious and had adequate beds, bathrooms, and common spaces for our group of 5 adults to hang out together without falling over each other. Granted, it is far away from most tourist-y places and airports, but okay if you have a connection to Antioch or Concord like we did. The suburban neighborhood was pleasant and the backyard pool and landscaping were pretty to look at (but due to cooler weather we didn't use the pool or hot tub). There was some existing damage inside the house to things like doors, furniture, and appliances, and some amenities seemed to be missing, such as a hair drier, coffee supplies, and garage remote - probably all due to inconsiderate prior guests - but those did not have a major impact on our stay. The owner was responsive and communicated well if I had questions or comments. All in all, a fairly good house to stay in if you're on a budget and are okay with being in the far reaches of the East Bay (Antioch is 45 miles east of San Francisco).

My first impression was that the place was slightly run down (not the house but the furnishings and barbecue etc.), but really, we had a wonderful time. The outside space is what really shines here. We chose this house because of the pool photos and the trees and privacy, and those were exactly as described. Spacious, and no other houses visible from there. Honestly I spent most of my time outside. With just the two of us, we only used the king bed (there's only one in that room, not three like the listing says) and it was comfortable; I don't know about the other bedrooms (though one of them doesn't match the photos, there's no bunks). The bathrooms were great. We didn't understand the thermostat, it would blast cold air in the middle of the night and at odd times, so we ended up turning it off. My husband's main complaint was that there wasn't a desk anywhere for him to work; but aside from that he didn't really have any other comments. My main complaint was that I mentioned in passing that a friend was going to visit just for the day and we got charged for an extra person, even though he wasn't going to spend the night -- so, if you're having friends come over to enjoy the pool, just don't mention it. It seems unfair since no other bedrooms are being used. But aside from that, altogether we had a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay! The home was as advertised, good for our group (including a toddler, teens, and a dog), and comfortable.
