I booked a stay at LK Grand Empire and while the building is nice I’m shocked at the lack of amenities and support from front desk staff. I was shocked to check-in and find out that this supposedly 5 star hotel doesn’t have either a microwave or a smart TV. I asked the front desk about reheating leftovers because it’s very common to order food delivery but received only a generic response like “The Kitchen is closed”. How is possible that such a grand hotel doesn’t have a microwave? In addition, the WiFi was subpar and what made my trip really disappointing is the fact I couldn’t even watch YouTube or stream Netflix on the outdated TVs. Only Thai cable channels in fuzzy quality were available to watch for in room entertainment. The last critique is that although the hotel is located close to a 7/11 there anre almost no restaurants or activities nearby the hotel. Every task or activity requires ordering a grab and the surrounding area isn’t walkable or entertaining for tourists. I noticed entire groups of tours from India and China staying at the hotel as well which I wish was advertised before I made a booking. Overall, it’s a basic hotel, definitely not 5 stars, with basic outdated facilities in need of a major upgrade for comfortable guest stays.

Comfortable room. Super clean. Ac good does not blow on the beds. Beds medium, easy to sleep. Smallish smart tv could not get YouTube. Internet not stable. Staff all helpful smiles. Breakfast spread only half there due to lowest season in years imo. Pool is crystal clear, I’m the only swimmer today. The hot and cold water in the shower stayed scalding hot even the cold was hot . . Furnishings are typical LK. If you know, you know.
