    Cannot recommend this place enough! The beds were the most comfortable we’ve had in Japan (triple room, not futons); the staff are all incredibly helpful - a mix of Japanese and foreigners so always someone who can help. They were super helpful with dinner recommendations and helping to make bookings. They arranged a shuttle to Iiyama for us and even picked us up from another hotel as we had decided to stay an extra night but they were full. The breakfast is great - mostly western but some Japanese options available. The omelette station was fantastic. The common area was so cozy and nice with the fire at night, and lots of groups of people in there playing games etc. was a lovely place to hang out. The location is really good, took us less than 10mins to walk to the gondola, although there are bus stops fairly close by. Also a very short walk to the Main Street. The drying room was awesome - heaps of space for everyone’s gear and very warm so clothing dried overnight. The Onsen/bathing room is great - everyone was friendly and helped me (a first time user) understand the process. The lodge also provides Onsen baskets to take shampoo, conditioner and towels to the public Onsen. The only negative thing we experienced is the noise of people coming and going in the hallway in the mornings and evenings and around the toilets as our room was quite close to them. Overall I couldn’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

    Fantastic staff, location and facilities. 5-10 minutes walk to lifts or restaurants/village center. Delicious and good range of menu for breakfast. Has drying room for all the gears. Would love to stay again.
