Al Amir Palace Hotel

Amir Palace Hotel is located in a working-class neighborhood near the station. I’m the side streets there are all kind of small shops and market stalls. The staff of the hotel do not speak English very well, but they are friendly and helpful. They arranged for me to travel to Abydos by taxi and with a translator to visit the famous Temple of king Seti I and the 5,000 year old enclosure of king Khasekhemwy.

The hotel ha probably seen better days: the entrance for example is of a star hotel, but my bathroom is in need of renovation.

Very clean entrance and rooms, as the Hotel must have been renovated, apart from the terrace for breakfast. Great location, as a short walk from the train station and centre of town. Staff very friendly too and will help you out with their knowledge. It’s worth walking around Sohag, as the people are all so incredibly friendly. I recommend

Breakfast was a bit miserable, with no offer of tea or coffee and the tables were unclean. Please do something about this, as you done so well to renovate the rest of the hotel

Le prix. Le quartier populaire.

La propreté limite. Pas de drap de dessus mais une couverture dont se demande si elle est lavée après chaque client. La saleté de la terrasse où on prend un petit déjeuner assez limité, des chats partout, la cuisine qui ne donne pas très envie. Le 2ème jour, j'ai pris le petit déjeuner dans la rue, plus sympa et meilleur.
