A relaxed stay where the stunning beauty of the area is immediate.
That it was dog friendly, close to facilities, walks and other leisure activities.
Everything met our needs and there was nothing that we didn't like

    Great one night stay
Loved the welcome sign and the treats, especially the treats for our hound. The bedroom is cosy, but we knew that. It nicely fits a bed for our medium/large greyhound, and he settled well. Lovely views from the bedroom.
    All good.

    Great stay in Ballachulish
Very pleasant stay in Ballachulish. You stay at Sonja's house but can enjoy total privacy as you have the bedroom, a big bathroom and a kitchenette for yourself. We haven't met Sonja in person but she was very kind and easy to communicate with. It is a short walk (if you cut through the croft in front of the house) to the bus stop, cafés and restaurants. Perfect cleanliness.

    Perfect location for hill-walking
For hill-walkers, the location can’t be beat. Just a five minute walk from the bus stop, grocery store, and a great trail head. It’s quite something to open your curtains in the morning and see the Pap of Glencoe. That said, the best thing by far was the bath. As a starving grad student, I’m used to showers, so the luxury of sinking into a bath after a day of walking, complete with bath salts and other niceties, couldn’t be beat.
I have some issues with social anxiety and privacy, so in some ways the arrangement was not ideal for me. It did end up being totally autonomous in the end, but some parts of the lodging are shared with the host. But Sonja was perfectly lovely, and very respectful about not entering the shared spaces while I was there, so for most people I think it’s probably quite comfortable.

Good value for our short stay.
Our stay was on a room only basis, but we did have access to a separate small kitchen area, The location was fine for what we wanted to see and to visit other places.
Only the weather. It rained for the four days we were there.

    Perfection in Ballachulish!
The location of this little gem is just perfect for those looking to take in the Highlands. Glencoe, Ballachulish and all it's surrounding areas are just beautiful. Sonjas home is just minutes away from starting the magnificent Schoolhouse ridge, short drives to both Buachaille Etive Mòr and Buachaille Etive Beag, the stunning Aonach Eagach and many more walks and trails. Oban and Fort William are both wonderful places to visit, and are under an hour drive to get there, which opens up the opportunity to take in the Mighty Ben Nevis and great boat trips! The room was exactly as advertised, while small, there is plenty of space for all your belongings. The picture on the wall of the bedroom is of the Wee White house in front of Buachaille Etive Mor should you wish to visit it in person! The bed is a storage bed so plenty of room under there, one set of drawers and a bedside table for main clothing items. There is even a drawer full of essentials for you to use such as coat hangers, chargers, a speaker, notebook and pen, and some leaflets and maps for you to start planning your adventures! There is a coat rack on the wall and Sonja kindly has left pretty much, the whole space under the stairs for drying clothes, storing suitcases, storing shoes and hanging extra jackets etc. The bathroom is a good size with a great shower, a bath, and perfect space for toiletries in the drawers under the sink. She also has left out toiletries in a little basket and some essential, before and after walking, lotions and potions like after sun, insect repellant and the great deep heat to soothe the aching muscles after a long day in the hills! The kitchen has everything you need to make light snacks and all the dishes and cutlery you need, should you bring home some food from the surrounding areas. Our favourite had to be the Quarriers Kitchen Fish & Chips.
I Could not fault this property and stay in anyway!
