Villa Rayao

The Villa looks quite nice, the pool is pleasant and the interior furniture is ok. I would prefer a bigger double bed - we used the 2 single beds. The TV is ok. The sun loungers looked a bit sorry for themselves but were quite comfortable. The kitchen is adequate but there are now plates that I would call large and no large glasses. There are very many glasses of sherry or shot size!

Entry to the Villa on arrival was difficult. We found the keys but found they did not turn the locks. It turned out this was because the gates needed to be squeezed together to allow the bolt that was moved by the key to move. This should be included in your instructions. Sadly when we phoned for advice we got an answerphone in Spanish from the local property manager and no answer at all from Agni except to tell us that their mobile phone was switched off. The Spaniard did phone us back but not until next day. We eventually got in by using more forcwhich felt as if it might break the key, happily it did not. No-one ever visited except the pool maintenance guy - who was good. The lane to the villa is horrible. A single track gravel track with no real passing places. I recommend a small car. I had a Peugeot 5008 which was very hard to manoevre into the parking space. I did not want to risk this track in the dark. The meant we did not dare go out in the evening. The fruit trees in the garden are interesting. There is a yard at the back which appears to mainly contain building material. There are steps to a roof but this is sadly inaccessible. Quite a lot of the exterior lights do not work. The wi-fi works. There is local 5G too. The air con works but the unit in the living room can get overwhelmed if left on too long (we are warned about this) The units in the bed rooms are good. The surrounding area has some very shack-like buidings, very many barking dogs. Frigiliana and Nerja are very nice. Would we go back to this villa? No.
