Your Captain’s Apartment – Old Town Flair & Maritime Charm
Welcome to your Captain’s Apartment—a special retreat in the heart of Flensburg. Located in a 16th-century historic half-timbered house, this lovingly furnished vacation apartment spans two levels and combines historic charm with modern comfort.
As soon as you enter the apartment, you’ll be greeted by the open-concept kitchen and living area. Fully equipped, it invites you to cook and enjoy meals together. The adjacent living area, with its cozy seating and flat-screen TV, offers the perfect setting for relaxing evenings.
The bathroom has been completely renovated and features a walk-in shower for your added comfort.
The stairs lead up to the two bedrooms. Look forward to restful nights in your new, comfortable box-spring bed (1.80 x 2.00 m). Thanks to the high-quality mattress and luxurious sleep experience, every night becomes pure relaxation—perfect for recharging your energy for your explorations of Flensburg. The second separate bedroom, featuring a double bed (1.40 x 2.00 m), is perfect for families with (older) children or friends traveling together.
Of course, we want to make sure you have everything you need: Wi-Fi is available free of charge, and for cyclists, there’s a lockable storage area—perfect for e-bikes.
In the backyard, you’ll find a small bistro table with chairs, ideal for a relaxing break in the fresh air.
Your Kapitänswohnung is located right in the vibrant heart of Norderstraße—a neighborhood that has evolved into a hip district with big-city flair. There’s plenty to discover here: charming cafés, unique dining options, Danish shops, thrift stores, and tempting ice cream flavors.
And then there’s the story of the dangling shoes—the famous “Shoefitti.” Since 2014, old shoes have adorned the ropes stretched between the buildings, earning Norderstraße the title of one of the “craziest streets in the world.” Maybe you’ll discover the story behind this extraordinary work of art!
For those arriving by car: A parking spot in the Segelmacherstraße parking garage is included for you. The parking pass is provided in the apartment and should be returned there upon departure.

In short, the appartment was great. The location is excellent with a bakery within 50 meters, the shopping streets in 200 meters and the old harbour just behind you. Clean, very complete kitchen, adequate bathroom, good beds. A few minor remarks: if you bring youre bikes, be aware that you have to lift them up and down several stairs to reach the basement and if you are taller than 185 cm you have to watch out for the wooden beams (it is an old house after all). Note that there is an extra fee of 15 Eur pp for towels and bedlinnen. This is not mentioned in the add.
Conclusion: a very nice apartment in the heart of a beautiful town. We would surely recommend it!

Great view of the harbor and easy walking distance to the Norderstraße shopping area, harbor, museum, gym, bakeries, transportation. Quiet neighborhood, easy access to the apartment. Peter was easy to contact and replied to all of our questions. Recommend this apartment when in Flensburg!
