About this farm stay rental
The Briggs Farmhouse is a 1920's 2-story charmer on a secluded ranch in Carmel Valley. A quick drive to Monterey or Carmel - this is a perfect home base to explore the Monterey Peninsula then come back to a relaxing and quiet space. The perfect countryside getaway.
Plan your day of adventure in Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel, or Pebble Beach while sipping on hot cup of coffee in the study, on the porch, or on the balcony overlooking the orchard!
The space
Bedroom 1: This bedroom is located on the second floor and features a King Bed with a small sofa making the perfect relaxing reading nook. There is a bathroom upstairs that consists of a toilet, sink, and bathtub.
Bedroom 2: This room is attached to the King Bedroom upstairs and features a trundle (twin bed with second a rollout twin bed underneath). There is TV in this room and a door that leads to a small balcony. The upstairs bathroom is connected to this room as well so others would need to go through this bedroom to access it.
Bedroom 3: This room is located downstairs off of the dining room and has a Queen Bed as well as a TV and lots of closet space.
Game Room: This room is located downstairs and is the perfect spot for a game night or some friendly poker. This room also has a sofa bed that pulls out into a queen bed for additional sleeping room.
Study Room: This is a relaxing spot to work from home at the desk facing an open meadow and have a cup of coffee or read a book from our library in the sunlight.
Dining Room: Seat up to 8 people in the dining room for a cozy lunch or dinner that overlooks the meadow.
Bathroom 1: Full bathroom downstairs with rainfall shower head and bathtub
Bathroom 2: Located upstairs this bathroom has a toilet, bathtub, and sink.
This house is designed for group entertaining. It is relaxing and comfortable enough to house 8 guests, while providing each guest the privacy of a private room. The Briggs Farmhouse is located just 5 minutes off Hwy 68, so is an ideal starting point for groups planning to spend time on the Monterey Peninsula, in Big Sur, or at the Laguna Seca Raceway!
Guest access
The entire house and surrounding outdoor area is accessible. There is space for 4 vehicles in the driveway. The neighborhood is beautiful and perfect for morning strolls, or a cycle around the loop (Corral de Tierra loop is 16 miles and is known as a cycling destination). The region is called the Pastures of Heaven and is home to beautiful rolling hills, seasonal streams, deer, wild turkey, and dozens of bird species.
Other things to note
***Please be aware that there is no A/C in the house and it can get warmer during the days in the summer months. The nights are usually fine as the temp cools off still at night. We provide portable fans and heaters for the 4 bedrooms.
Events are not allowed at this property unless they are previously discussed with the host. An event is any gathering where guests not included in the headcount listed at booking would be on site. We do not allow day guests unless previously approved.

This place is incredible and very comfortable. Rustic but with amenities. We came for a three day golf trip and found it convenient and relaxing. Check in was easy and morning coffee in "the library" is a distinct memory. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect! Every year we travel to Monterey to work at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and this home is conveniently located only 15 minutes away. While the property is close to the track, it is tucked away in the beautiful, serene countryside where you will see birds, bunnies and even wild pigs out the kitchen window. It is a great place to unwind and relax from a day's work (or sightseeing if on vacation). The home was charming and had all the amenities you need, including good wi-fi. We will definitely come back.

Our family of 7 had plenty of space and rooms in which to spread out and enjoy 4 nights in Carmel Valley. We took day trips to historic Monterey, Fisherman's Wharf and the tide pools, to Point Sur Lighthouse, Big Sur and Pfeiffer Beach, and to the Carmel Mission, all of which were very accessible from the property. In the evenings we enjoyed a fire with s'mores and movies from the big couch. The two palm trees out front were perfectly spaced for our son's hammock, and the front porch and back study were favorite reading spots for the whole family. Even the 'adventure' of hand-washing the dishes (i.e., BYODishwasher) was a bonding experience, and we appreciated access to the full-sized laundry machines. Thanks for a great stay!
