Apartment in the historic center of Carmo, in Funchal

Welcome to our cozy Old Town apartment in the heart of Funchal! It has been renovated and furnished specifically for vacation rentals. The apartment features Wi-Fi and an elevator.
This fully furnished 3-room apartment (2 bedrooms, 1 living room, entryway, kitchen, 1 larger and 1 smaller shower room) is located in the heart of Funchal’s bustling city life, right next to the pedestrian shopping area, cafés, bars, and restaurants. The grocery store and bakery are right across the street, and the ice cream shop is a 1-minute walk away.
Built in 1990, the apartment is spacious and, thanks to its elevator, is wheelchair-accessible and adapted for people with disabilities. It is located on the first floor.
Thanks to large south-facing windows and light-colored, opaque curtains, the apartment is very bright and airy. Therefore, air conditioning is not necessary. In addition, the apartment features a partially sun-exposed loggia, allowing you to sunbathe from morning until late afternoon. Due to the sun’s position, there is usually a shaded area available as well.
The apartment has 2 bedrooms (1 bedroom with a 160-cm bed and a smaller bedroom with a 120-cm-wide bed), each with a built-in closet, and two bathrooms (both with walk-in showers), providing ample space for 3 people. Please be sure to let us know if you’ll be staying as a party of two and need two separate rooms.
The kitchen is very bright and modern. It includes an oven, a microwave, and a washing machine, but no dishwasher. Otherwise, it is fully equipped. Please do not use the exhaust fan above the stovetop; open a window instead.
The living room is divided into a dining area and a lounge area with a sofa and a sleeper couch. A monitor, keyboard, and 1 printer (upon request) are available for working. We have equipped the apartment with a modern smart TV (Netflix, YouTube).
Although the apartment is located right in the city center, it is pleasantly quiet at night. In the morning, you’ll usually be woken up by birdsong.
The soundproof windows in the bedrooms are fitted with blackout curtains, so you can sleep comfortably even as the city comes to life.

Keys are handed over either in person by our friendly staff in Funchal or are available in the key box next to the apartment’s front door. You can access the building either with a code or a key.

A few house rules are important to ensure that other guests also have a pleasant stay:
- Please be considerate (noise).
- Please always take off your outdoor shoes when entering the apartment, as the hardwood floors are prone to scratches.
- Please always lock the apartment door securely when you leave.
