About this apartment rental
The Sunset Nest is located in a small quiet historical neighborhood on the top of one of Lisbon's hills. Enjoy the full view of this beautiful city while cooking or having your dinner and go to bed assured that no city noises will disturb your sleep.
Originally build as accommodation for the employees of a chocolate factory, the Estrela D'ouro private community with its azulejo wall decorations and Galician star mosaics is a unique resting place. The lack of through traffic and the quiet village atmosphere provides a fantastic oasis of peace only fifteen minutes walk from the city center.
The wider neighborhood of Graca is stretched out over the top of one of the city’s seven hills only a short downhill walk away from the city center and one hilltop away from the Lisbon Castle. You will find the most breathtaking of Lisbon's many viewpoints “Miradouro da Nossa Senhora do Monte” just a five minute walk up the hill from the apartment and the famous tram # 28 stops just around the corner. Other attractions in the immediate area include the National Pantheon, the Monastery of "São Vicente de Fora" and the famous "Feira da Ladra" flea market held on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Lisbon is everything you have ever heard about it plus all the feelings it evokes when you throw yourself into its open arms. Soft, colorful, chaotic, melancholic, and timidly expressive. Just open the door and it is all around you.

We had 4 nights here and I wish we could have stayed longer. It had everything we needed. Communication and booking was easy and smooth. We were met at check in by Fernanda, who is a delight and speaks near perfect english. She showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment and answered all our immediate questions.
The hosts provide a a comprehensive guide to the local area in the apartment with tips on where to eat, get groceries and transit passes as well as day trip suggestions.
It is clean and well organized. The bed was super comfortable and I really appreciated the feather pillow!
The view is spectacular. The neighbourhood is lovely. Graca is a perfect place to stay if you want to get a taste of real Lisboa.
At the end of a long day it was a relief to get the tram back up the hill to this peaceful spot. It's at the end of a very quiet street.
The highest miradouro is just up the street, there are 3 supermarkets within a couple of blocks, loads of cafes and restaurants.
Like I said, it was perfect! I highly recommend it!

My husband and I stayed here for a month and had a lovely time. The landlords, Tim and Lubica, live on the first floor of the complex, and were very helpful and kind. The view from the apartment is beautiful, and the apartment itself was clean and comfortable. Bus and tram stops are nearby, and the location is just off Largo da Graça , a square with restaurants, grocery stores, pastry shops, etc. You can sit at the table in the apartment, drinking coffee and enjoying the view, or walk to the nearby miradouros (overlooks) of Graça and Senhora do Monte. It is easy to walk to Alfama, São Vincente and the Feira da Ladra, downtown, the Sé, and the castle, etc, since they are all downhill (except the castle), but we were usually lazy and took the bus or tram back up the hill. Ask Tim or Lubica re. tips for local restaurants and activities. They are knowledgeable and can tailor suggestions to your tastes. Highly recommend!
