Loved how peaceful and calm it was here. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean, comfy, and really well-equipped. Breakfast was tasty. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here in July during our road trip to the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. This property was a good spot to take a break from the intense desert heat. I am providing detail to help other fellow travelers with the type of information I would like to see in reviews so I can make an informed decision. Location: While the initial turnoff from the main street can feel a bit unsettling because the entrance road looks unfinished and faces an empty field, you quickly realize it is a blessing. It keeps the property quiet and away from main road traffic while still being within walking distance to Aït Benhaddou. Because of the July heat, we still opted to drive closer to the ksar, but keep in mind that wherever you park, you still have to walk across the dry riverbed to get into the old city. Parking: A massive bonus is the free parking; felt completely safe right on the side of the building, allowing us to leave our car there without any worry. Easy to get in and out. The Authentic Vibe & Cleanliness: Step inside and you genuinely feel like you are stepping back in time. It is a Riad type style house, not a high-end luxury modern hotel, but it is super authentic and incredibly clean. Strategic AC Solution: Air conditioning is absolutely vital in this part of the world. Our first room had AC, but because it faced the front of the building and took the brunt of the intense sun all day, it struggled against the outside heat. We asked to switch to a room at the back of the building, and that made a massive difference. The AC in the back room was key and kept us comfortable. The Room & good Shower: The host was very understanding and moved us to a new room in the back. It was basic but had everything we needed, including three comfortable single beds with the right amount of sheets. The bathroom was actually quite large and featured an amazing shower! The water flow was excellent, both the hot and cold water worked perfectly, and it had a great showerhead.

Things to Keep in Mind: First Impressions: The entrance road can be slightly off-putting at first glance because it looks unfinished and sits next to an empty, deserted-looking neighborhood, though this seems standard for many properties in the area. Host Welcome: Our arrival check-in felt a bit cold at first, though the host definitely warmed up and became very pleasant and accommodating shortly after. Aging Property: It is an older, aging traditional property, so do not expect modern luxury or high-end finishes.
