About this villa rental
### Description
In the heart of a listed site, the terrace extended by a swimming pool overlooks one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Villa Rackam is a subtle blend of Creole and contemporary architecture. Exclusive furnishings, meticulous decoration and original works of art.
A fully-equipped independent kitchen opening onto the terrace and the sea. Spacious, airy living room.
2 air-conditioned bedrooms with 160cm beds, each with its own private bathroom opening onto the Caribbean sky.
Parking space for golf carts and electric bikes with recharging station. Access to the villa is not possible for vehicles larger than a golf cart.
The villa is not recommended for children under 5.
The villa is not accessible to disabled persons.
If you wish to rent an electric cart or an electrically-assisted bicycle, please contact us.
If you have luggage and no electric buggy, we advise you to book a cab to the villa. Please note that the villa is at the top of a short but steep and narrow climb.
For early-morning departures, there is a shuttle service to the pier.
For your arrival and the use of geolocation we advise the use of Waze rather than Google Maps which here will be more accurate.

It will only take you 6 minutes to walk to Anse du font curé. Then to tour of the island by car, scooter or electric bike. Visit Fort Napoleon, Pompierre beach and Pain de sucre. In the evening, enjoy a quiet dinner overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in the world. La Dive Bouteille” diving club and kayak rental 300 m away. For walkers, there's a 45-minute round-trip to admire the sunset from the summit of Camel (the island's highest point).
### A little history
The islands of Les Saintes or Les Saintes, in Guadeloupean Creole Lésent, are an archipelago of volcanic islets in the French West Indies in the Caribbean Sea. Divided between the communes of Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas, Les Saintes are administratively attached to Guadeloupe. Its inhabitants are called Saintois(es).
The smell of pancakes on the island quickly confirmed the Breton origin of these inhabitants. After numerous English invasions, always repelled, the first settlers arrived in the archipelago in the 1640's. They were Bretons, Normans, Vendeans and Alsatians.

A perfect stay, Villa Rackam is an exceptional property with a stunning view and very private, comfortable and well appointed.
Please conserve water (3 water cutoffs during my week, from 6pm to 8am), water is increasingly precious everywhere.

This place was perfect! Claire met us in the inclined driveway to ensure we found the place. I would recommend renting a golf cart or e-bike. Getting up that incline alone was worth having it! Claire responded to any questions we had and we ate at every restaurant she recommended! The location of the house is walking distance from the ferry, majority of the shops and food but also just enough away from it all to give you the best view of Terre de haut. I did not even want to leave the comfort of the house some days but we sadly did to explore all the amazing beaches! Crawen being our favorite. Having the breeze while you relax by the pool watching the colors change from sunset was so beautiful. The beds pillows were comfy and air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms and the outdoor showers leant to the island experience. Out of the three places we stayed at here and on Guadeloupe Id have to say this was our favorite. The clothes washing machine also worked great!

The location of the house is walking distance from the ferry, majority of the shops and food but also just enough away from it all to give you the best view of Terre de Haut. I did not even want to leave the comfort of the house some days but we sadly did to explore all the amazing beaches! Crawen being our favorite. Having the breeze while you relax by the pool watching the colors change from sunset was so beautiful. The beds pillows were comfy and air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms and the outdoor showers leant to the island experience. The clothes washing machine also worked great! The kitchen had everything we needed and we made breakfast every morning. Out of the three places we stayed at here and on Guadeloupe Id have to say this was our favorite.

A beautiful location and excellent view. The villa had everything we needed and more. Claire the concierge was so friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to return.
