Spacious Glen Rose Home on Paluxy Riverfront

The property was wonderful. The house was beautiful and very comfortable to all. We got to meet the owner Patrick and he was immediately warm and welcoming. He was available if we had and needs. The family really enjoyed the whole atmosphere. They especially enjoyed the fire pit and the smoker. Again we totally recommend this property if you are staying in Glen Rose.

No breakfast. The house was wonderful, room enough for all of us. The living room was roomy and we had a pool tournament. The kitchen was well equipped including spices, coffee and sugar. The bathroom was great with an excellent shower head and good, thick toilet paper. We enjoyed sitting on the deck by the river, very relaxing. We also made a fire in the fire pit, great for star watching. Some instructions would help for the grill, we had never used one powered by pellets. Overall, a great place.

Our stay had both positives and negatives. The home itself is beautiful, very spacious, and in a great location close to Dinosaur World and Dinosaur Valley State Park. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were gorgeous with large rain showers, and we appreciated that almost everything throughout the house was labeled (although labeling the many TV /Fan remotes would have been helpful!).

Unfortunately, there were several things that would keep us from staying here again. The biggest concern was privacy. During our stay, the owner stopped by multiple times( not to talk to us but was around the home), and other people walked through very the back of the house very close several times throughout our visit. With the large windows, it felt uncomfortable and took away from the relaxing, private getaway we were expecting. There is another smaller home about 10ft from the property- had we known it was a rental or there would be others staying sharing a back area we would have chosen another location. Families with young children should also know that we did not find the property very kid-friendly. While the house has plenty of space, there are several safety hazards. Some of the wooden steps are loose enough to rock and even flip when stepped on. There is also an open basement-style wine cellar with stairs that required us to use a baby gate, but there were still exposed steps that could be dangerous for children. The deck overlooking the river bluff is a wonderful feature, but the experience is diminished by old building materials and unused AC units stored nearby. Besides taking away from the beautiful view, they create unnecessary safety concerns for children and pets.
