Villa Giada

Beim Eintreffen konnten wir gar nicht glauben, dass wir in dieser wunderschönen Villa wohnen werden. Damiana hat uns schon erwartet, hat uns alles genau gezeigt und erklärt. Das Haus, den Garten. Wir waren begeistert. Die Einrichtung war dann nicht ganz genau nach unserem Geschmack. Aber so ist das mit dem Geschmack. Damiana hat uns sehr viele Empfehlungen für Cafés und Restaurants geschickt. Wir haben allerding nur die in unmittelbarer Nähe der Unterkunft genutzt, sowohl morgens zum Frühstücken, als auch abends zum Essen und waren froh, nicht wegfahren zu müssen. Eine tolle Pizza gab es in Mare Luna an der schönen Badebucht etwa 300 m vom Haus entfernt. Und den besten Kaffee morgens haben wir in Pane Olio mit schönem Blick aufs Meer und die Stadt direkt an der Uferpromenade genossen. In die Stadt sind wir immer mit dem Bus 1 oder 2 gefahren. Fährt etwa alle 20 Minuten. Ins Zentrum zu Plaza de la Republik fährt man etwa 5 Minuten, zurück sehr viel länger, aber das war auch egal. Hauptsache bequem und ohne Parkplatzsuche. Die Fahrkarten wollten wir im Bus kaufen, was dann nicht ging. Der Fahrer hat uns wohlwollend trotzdem mitfahren lassen. Die Stadt Trani ist auf jeden Fall eine Besichtigung wert. Sehr schön.

Es waren ein paar Kleinigkeiten, zum Beispiel die Gartenmöbel haben ihre besten Zeiten schon hinter sich, die Plastikstühle sind zum großen Teil beschädigt, aber man kann sich dafür in die Hängematte legen und den Anblick auf die Palmen genießen.

The property is a beautiful old villa set in its own garden and both are kept in very good condition. The roof top terrace is ideal for evening drinks and the location is peaceful yet close to bars and restaurants plus less than 2km to the port area. The host family live in the villa but were very discreet and extremely helpful if needed with some very good dining recommendations and they even booked the table for us!

This is a fabulous turn of the century villa with amazing high ceilings and is very spacious.

We loved it all.

The villa. Cleanliness matters most to us, and here it was excellent. Classic style with real character: you will absolutely feel like an Italian aristocrat. Every day I found myself wondering who built the place, how people lived here before and what they did for a living. Antique furniture, paintings, rugs, the finishes throughout — every detail carries that long history. We had the entire ground floor to ourselves: two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a study and a spacious bathroom, plus a terrace, a garden and sun loungers on the roof. The rooftop loungers are simply wow — comfortable and completely private. Location. One minute on foot to the rocky beach, three minutes to the big sandy one. Cafés, bars and grocery stores are all nearby. For a seaside holiday the location is unbeatable. The host. We were welcomed by the lovely Luciana, who kindly offered to pick us up at the station. We understood each other right away with the help of Google Translate. Luciana lives on the second floor with her sister and father, with a separate entrance. Genuinely warm, kind people: they showed us around the area and recommended interesting spots and cafés. We rarely crossed paths — our privacy was fully respected. Trani. The town itself gave us a real sense of rest and ease. After travelling through Rome and Naples, here you can finally breathe out: a quiet seaside town with no tourist crowds and no pickpockets. Plenty of places for every taste, locals out until two in the morning in summer, spots for older visitors and for a younger crowd alike — we even stumbled on a small rock concert at a bar by the sea. In short. We were sad to leave. In three nights we grew incredibly attached to this place, its history and its rhythm of life. We will definitely come back — hopefully more than once, and for longer. I highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for comfort, relaxation, closeness to the sea and the atmosphere of classic elegance.
