Lovely house. Very spacious. Majority of house seemed clean.
Only one hand towel available so we had to purchase as was told they were provided and didnt bring with us. Two days into stay we found them in a cupboard under the stairs bundled up in a storage bag. The house needs some attention. Feels and smells a little damp. Shower curtain was not long enough so water poured over floor. Not enough toilet rolls provided. No central heating so nights chilly especially out of season. Back yard needs a good clean and repairs, as gate broken and no longer in place and is a Security risk. Would be nice if had an area to sit.

Perfect property for a family getaway. I stayed here with 6 adults and a baby, we were all very comfortable there and felt at home. We were not cold, had comfortable bedding, a cosy living room and a very clean property!
No hanging wardrobe space and downstairs toilet doesnt work very well. However these felt like minor issues in the overall rating of the property

Very calm and cozy place, only walking to the centre,
Comfortable bedrooms,
Two separated living room with separate TV , and good for children to watch their favourite, and adults watching movies, there is WiFi and Netflix.
Kitchen is fully equipped, particularly for those like to make their own fresh food, with large fridge.
Also two separate shower.
Ilfracombe is very beautiful place, it was really worth traveling long hours from London. Free car park around the road.
Car park some times was an issue, eventually we could get car park with short distances,

Nothing
Do not book!
Upon arrival, we were extremely concerned to find the following serious issues:
• Mould had been painted over and was visibly coming back through the walls and ceilings.
• Although we had booked a travel cot, it was not provided—not that we would have felt safe using it given the condition of the property.
• The house was generally unclean, with dead flies everywhere and mould around the windows.
• Shockingly, we found a slug on one of the beds, which was deeply distressing.
• The mattresses were so poor and thin, we could feel the wooden slats beneath them—making it completely unsuitable for rest.
Due to the unacceptable and unsanitary conditions, we made the decision that it was not safe for our family to stay, especially with our 4-month-old baby. As a result, we had to urgently find alternative accommodation at additional cost and missed part of a wedding event we had travelled to attend.
We contacted the owner, Paul, who stated he had never received complaints about the property. However, this is in direct contradiction to multiple reviews left on your platform, all of which describe the same issues we experienced.

Nothing
Dirty, mouldy, terrible
4.0 / 10.0
To start positively, 4 of us spent a comfortable night at the property and the heaters that we used worked, as did the kettle.
The double bed in bedroom 2 was very uncomfortable (the mattress needs replacing) and so my adult daughter chose to sleep on one of the bunk mattresses on the floor of that room.
Bedroom 4 had a detached curtain rail and was quite damp so we did not use that room.
The wall mounted radiator in reception room 2 has had some sheets of paper pushed inside it that could very well be a fire risk if that radiator is used.
The downstairs toilet has a problem with water leaving the pan. When flushed, the pan fills nearly to the brim before slowly draining away. We decided it was not to be used in this state.
Outside the back door was a pile of ‘recycling’, the two wheelie bins are overflowing and the patio area is a dangerous disgrace.
I think you need to know that whatever team you use to clean the property do not do a good job.
The trays used by previous guests to cook their pizzas (boxes left outside back door) still had pizza base stuck to them.
They clearly had not be washed at all. The oven tray in the oven was filthy.

Unfortunately there is nothing to report in terms of what we liked, as we experienced an unacceptable condition of the property.
My group and I stayed at this property the night before our wedding. We were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the house. Upon arrival, it was clear the property had not been cleaned since the previous guests. There was food on the kitchen floor, in the sink, and even left in the dishwasher. The bedding had clearly been used—there were visible creases, hairs and even what appeared to be blood stains on the sheets, which was deeply unsettling. This is a health and safety concern in terms of contaminated bedding.
The bathroom was also unclean, with a dirty bath with evidence of pubic hairs in the bath and toilet.
This lack of basic hygiene is unacceptable and does not meet the standards expected of any accommodation, let alone one listed on booking.com. We reached out to the host who said they could not help. Luckily the property had a washing machine and tumble dryer but we had to find an open shop on a Sunday evening to buy laundry pods as none were supplied. We spent the evening washing and drying 5 lots of bedding and finally got to bed well after midnight. Not the evening we had planned the night before our wedding!! I would not recommend staying here unless the host addresses the serious issues with cleanliness and guest preparation.
Although the host agreed this is unacceptable, we are still in communication with booking.com to request a full refund.
Referring to the Consumer Act 2015 this property did meet the standards and description as advertised on booking.com.
We hope to receive the support from booking.com with regards to reviewing policies and receiving our refund.
We have photographed the body fluids on the sheets but due to the content will not be posting as part of this review.

Location to town was good.
Property is spacious.
The description says there 'Free public parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed)'. THERE IS NO ON SITE PARKING. You have to park in the road which could be a fair walk away, particularly if you have elderly family or friends with you.
There are two short flights of steps to access the property entrance - the first flight has no handrail. Again, not good if you are elderly or unsteady on your feet.
Part of the path leading up to the front door was covered in debris from a crumbling wall.
Once inside, very COLD! Be nice if the heating was timed to come on prior to arrival. There are wall mounted heaters but no instructions. A couple of portable haters provided although the feet were falling off one of them.
No hot water to upstairs bathroom. Downstairs bathroom had mould on the back of the door. Poor heating to bathrooms - just a small pull cord heater in each.
Some of the dining chairs were very wobbly so we couldn't sit on them for fear of them collapsing.
There is no welcome pack with any instructions on how anything works. No WiFi code.
Luckily, we only stayed one night and was up and out first thing in the morning

Location was good.
There were 4 staying but we could only find 2 knives, no forks, 1 teaspoon.
The twin room shows a fair bit of damp and the double socket is loose, need to hold it together to use.
The grill pan hadn't been cleaned, left with bacon fat.
I think the downstairs toilet is blocked, water rises almost to the rim when flushing.

Property in great location with lovely views, 10-15 min walk into Ilfracombe. Less than 5 min drive to Tesco & a short walk to Co-op. On street parking available & we were always able to find a space (3 cars). Great to have 2 living areas for adults & children. Nice open plan kitchen & dining area. Property was clean & comfortable. It had everything that we needed for our stay & we spent lots of time indoors due to the wet weather!!
A wardrobe or hanging space for clothes would be beneficial in the larger bedrooms.

Ideal for what we wanted - myself , my wife and our two adult children were here for the weekend for the wedding of our niece. So the large amount of space was ideal for us to spread out.
The weather was terrible but that was hardly the fault of the property!

Lovely house in a great position. comfy beds, nice towels and good cooking facilities. We parked on the road right outside so that was good.
the showers were too small, 760 mm trays. no oven gloves, kitchen roll towels, loo paper, salt and pepper. no welcome pack, which tends now to be standard. it’s not camping so you expect everything to be there on arrival except the food. heating was very manual and not easy to understand if you’re a bit less capable, house felt damp and cold on our return each day because of the lack of an easy single thermostat heating control. back yard needs cleaning up, stagnant water in 3 wheelie bins, full of larvae, probably upsets the neighbours. all of 10 minutes work to sort out.

Clean, comfortable and good location. Lovely house and good facilities (reception rooms, bathrooms, plenty of crockery, nice kitchen etc).
Had to go straight out to buy washing up liquid, dustbin bags and washing up cloth.

The location was good and a lovely house
The house was very cold the eclectic heaters weren’t enough for the size of the house. Should supply more heating if rented out in winter
