Easily the most amazing place we ever stayed. From the friendly and helpful staff who were always smiling and couldn’t do enough for us to the beautiful facilities.
We didn’t want to leave!

A beautiful winery situated on a farm, this five-star hotel offers a luxurious experience. The staff is professional and friendly, making every guest feel special. The mini bar is impressive, stocked with a wide variety of drinks and replenished daily. The suites are clean and well-furnished, exactly as described. The hotel also features an amazing restaurant and serves a great breakfast, enhancing the overall stay.

Breakfast was very good, extensive and very nice serving staff. There was a heated pool for exclusive use in our vineyard suite. Room service was good and efficient. The Operations manager is good at his job, he sent through a bottle of bubbly to apologise for the reception incident and tried to fix everything, but it was a little too late.
Our arrival was the worst ever. Front of house person began shouting at us from the car park, demanding to know who we were and why we were there. We asked him to give us a chance to get to the reception where we would show him our booking.com reservation. When we finally did so, he refused to accept it saying it was for the wrong date. This continued to escalate. We asked him to calm down a number of times as this was clearly no mistake of ours and there must be a miscommunication between the hotel and booking.com. He continued to argue saying there was no room prepared for us. We asked him to try and sorted it out as we had booked lunch and a wine tasting on the estate and that we would return after that to the reception area. At the wine tasting the Operations Manager come to speak with us. He was more reasonable but also did not quite believe any of our confirmations, eventually he made the decision to prepare our room for occupation after lunch. It was a vineyard suite accessed via a golf cart with our luggage. Staff the next morning did not seem to realise, or didn't care that the suite was occupied and stomped around on our private deck while I had just come out of the shower. There are no bath tubs in the vineyard suites, only a shower.

Everything was perfect on arrival. Luxurious and elegant with great attention to detail. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Well appointed room and the complementary mini-bar was a nice change from usual hotel ripoffs.
Not the most scenic side of Stellenbosch (but still a beautiful and tranquil setting)

Staff is above and beyond....became fast friends and learned so much about the property and the terroir and the history of the farm and general area...

The staff! Everyone was so amazing and I felt so safe and taken care of. We experienced some power outages, and the staff informed me, checked in with me, and made sure I had lights etc. The room was comfortable and clean. Wine was a lovely touch. The spa was wonderful too!
The outside area and outside seating could have been cleaner. But overall, an amazing stay! Definitely recommended and I'll be back!

Perfect location for some rest and relaxation. The staff are great and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and luxurious. The pool and Jacuzzi are also great additions to enjoy lazy days. The wine on the farm is good and reasonable priced and there is a great restaurant on the grounds. The ducks on the farm add to the experience. Would definitely visit again.
Dinner/supper options could be expanded with some simpler/cheaper choices/options. Dinner at Clara Barn is a great culinary treat and experience for one night.

The suite was excellent. Very modern, great layout. Despite just being off a busy road, the hotel is a real oasis and the location is great for the last stop before the airport but with easy access to Stellenbosch and Kalk Bay. The wine tasting/ wine is superb esp the Malbec. The breakfast was the best of the whole trip (stayed in 6 hotels). All the staff we met were lovely.
Very little. We did have someone just come into our room after one knock instead of waiting for the door to be opened, on more than one occasion. Not a big deal but could have been embarrassing all round. For the meal in the evening maybe more vegetables on the menu. As in green veg. Not sure SA is great if you are vegetarian.

The fine dining experience was amazing and well presented.
The breakfast serving was disappointing. The lady that served us was not in mood for working. When she arrived with our eggs and bacon the table still had plates on that we had to move for her to another table and then she looked very annoyed. The young man tried to make up for her lack of energy.

It’s a beautiful, green, historical property with views of vineyards enveloped by majestic mountains.
The food was excellent and straight from the farms in the property but that restricted the menu.
I would have preferred a few easy eating options as well available round the clock.

The room and the grounds are beautiful.
We booked a room for the evening of my wife's 30th birthday and dinner was a disaster, to say the least. The information provided after our reservation was confirmed, stated verbatim: "From Sunday to Wednesday, residents can look forward to various themed dinner events served in different, exclusive venues around the Estate". This is probably true, as long as that venue is your room and the theme for the evening is cold, disappointing morsels of food. We were told via WhatsApp that dinner consisted of sharing plates of bread, salads, a main course as well as dessert. We also confirmed the main course before ordering and were told it was seared beef fillet but no other information was forthcoming. When the food eventually arrived (late), it was not fillet, but a small portion of rare rump or sirloin slices in a coagulated sauce, a salad of lettuce leaves drenched in some dressing with parmesan shavings and soggy croutons, what I can only assume is curry sweet potato, two dry bread rolls, some chilli calamari cucumber concoction, and two chocolate chip cookies - everything ice cold. It was too late to do anything about it since most of the restaurants in the area were close to closing. An expectation was created since the special occasion noted on the website was acknowledged by the hotel after the booking was confirmed but absolutely nothing came of it. I did not expect a parade or a red carpet but if the hotel confirms a special request accommodation and directly state that they will arrange this for you, you are surely allowed to expect *something*. I also feel the communication regarding what to expect for the dinner could have been clearer so we could have made alternate plans, especially given the array of fine dining options available in Cape Town. My wife crying in the bath and going to bed hungry on her birthday is not something I will easily forget.

I stayed there for 10 days during my honeymoon. To summarise my stay:
- The staff is absolutely incredible! You will notice how friendly and helpful they are from the beginning.
- Food was ok. Maybe because I had to be selective for religious restrictions. However, the staff made sure that my religious requirements are met!
- The atmosphere is literally great! From sunrise to sunset, you would not wish to miss any opportunity to enjoy a tour around historic buildings upon which the hotel is located.
- The suite amenities were 5-star equipped.
- I would not say the price is lower than I expected, but it was a great value for money, compared to other options in Cape Town.
Definitely this hotel will be my choice next times! Highly recommended.
- The location is quite far from Cape Town city centre. You should consider this. However, this served my purpose since it is located between Cape Town and Stellenbosch (a great escape from the city for romantic days).

The whole experience with h hotel was fantastic. It started by clear Whats App communication. Then at check in a bellman met us at the car and walked us straight into our rom with no front desk - first time ever & fantastic! They recommended a dinner at their restaurant which was out of this world, probably 10 courses! We were stuffed and it was lovely! The room was terrific, warm, and with an outdoor jacuzzi. Breakfast the next morning was a huge board of fruits, breads, and cereal plus anything hot we wanted, juices, cappuccinos and teas.
Overall, every bit of a 5-star experience for us! THANK YOU!!

Beautiful, modern, spacious rooms, with a lounge and patio with heated jacuzzi. We stayed at the vineyard suites and it was luxury personified. Meals at both Geuwels and Clara’s barn were excellent. What stands out the most for us was the attention to detail, exceptional service and kindness of the those who work at the hotel and restuarant, made hubby’s birthday celebration very special and I am super grateful. Would definitely recommend. Other highlights, walking with the runner ducks, the spa and the lake.

This property makes you feel like you are in a nice tranquil secluded location, yet it is close by to Cape Town city centre. The facilities are clean and well thought out, they do a lot of effort in making your stay comfortable and they provide a lot of in room amenities. lovely all round
