Fabulous location and very clean. Meal at the Cruin was lovely

Nothing. The property was fab. The bar at The Cruin could do with selling some draft lagers or beers rather than just bottle

The rooms are well decorated. The bedding is good. The location in a park next to the loch is beautiful. The rooms are spacious. Parking is easy, next to the rooms but out of view.

The wall-integrated kitchen needs various repairs. Our lodge 'Pine' had little privacy, notably on the terrace in front. The lodge next to Pine scores better on privacy. There is some noise from the national road, but that diminishes after 20h00 and is not an issue at night.

I self catered or ate out in Balloch. The hotel was withing very easy walking distance, but being on my own I preferred to eat what I wanted , when I wanted. I was a little nervous about there being no "Cooker" but it has a Microwave with grill & convection oven combined. I have an early version of the Panasonic with just autocook & when that finally breaks down, I'll buy one of these all singing / dancing ones. It is handy for Balloch & the train, though just too far to walk in with my injured achilles. I liked that it wasn't crowded, I could sit playing guitar without being bothered, but the staff were in reception whenever needed and very helpful.

Just the bedside light switches were sticky. I cleaned the one I used. I'm pretty sure it was due to build up of cleaning fluid which wasn't wiped off properly with a clean wet cloth. It's a common problem.
