Anne Guest House

Anne was very kind, met all our requests and made really delicious food. You can walk directly to the fort from her rooftop. We could contact her at anytime via WhatsApp.

Ilu, the host, was so welcoming ! She and her husband helped us with our train tickets, amoung other things. We could spend some time chating together and learning from her cooking (she's really good cook). We were supposed to stay only one night but extended. The location is perfect, in a calm and pretty district (with blue streets without traffic) and at walking distance from a lot of monuments (the fort and the clock tower for example) The room and shared bathroom were comfortable and clean.

Anne's guest house is a great place ! The room was clean and we even had a private balcony with view on the city and fort. The rooftop terrace is amazing and the view is incredible. From the house there is a secret path that goes to the fort in 10/15 minutes ! Ilu, the owner of the guesthouse, was such a nice lady ! We had amazing conversations with her and she was so generous to us during our Ramadan fasting 🫶🏻 her kids are very cute ! Her cooking is very tasty ! She also made a beautiful henna on my hand. She also gave us all the recommendations about what to do in Jodhpur. Our experience in Jodhpur was so nice thanks to our stay at Anne's guest house, we highly recommend this place to stay !

The house is uniquely built on rocks constituting the hill on which Mehrangarh Fort sits. There's a 'secret' passage through the rooftop, which lets you hike (like actually hike, there's no path) up to the entry of the fort, definitely saving you some time and giving a unique perspective on the city. This is the only house around with such feature. The room with a view does indeed have a nice view of the city and the fort, though to enjoy it you will most likely need to use the balcony, that is shared with another room. Thanks to distance to the more busy streets of the old town, this area is fairly quiet and laid back. The hostess speaks very good English, so communication is not an issue. You may rent a scooter or a motorbike here for a good price.

Though there was very low occupancy, some guests showered in the shared bathroom for an excessive amount of time, leaving no hot water for the next guests. There should be signs urging guests to not take hot showers for more than 5 minutes each. The location also has its downsides, as if you need to catch an early train or so, you'll need to struggle with aggressive dogs on your way (they get really aggressive at nights and stay so until past dawn, in these less frequented streets). I think just next door to the house there's a barn of sorts, and sometimes the smell of cow dung reaches the room.
