Around a 25min Tuk-Tuk journey (400rupees) from Kandy station you will find the quiet Rivorich Hotel. Run by 2 very welcoming staff, the hotel is clean and a welcome relief from the busy city.
The rooms are fitted nicely, with clean towels and comfy beds and the all important air conditioning fan combo made for a comfortable night sleep.
Breakfast, included in the price, always filled us up for the day and was served at guests chosen time.
Top tips: the hotel manager is a great source of knowledge and truly cares for his guests. We were fortunate enough to hire him to drive us to some of the best sites such as Sigiriya and the surrounding temples. He was happy to let us roam and pick us up when needed. I'm not sure he can provide this service in peak times. However, asking his advice and whether he knows a trusted guide or driver will ensure you get a fair price.

Nice hotel close to river. We stayed there to watch the test match since it is close to there. Nice room and nice people.

Great hotel, quite location, friendly staff, modern, clean and spacious rooms.
The breakfast was very good and evening meals could be cooked to order.
I hope to return next time I visit Kandy.
