Cozy Modern Farmhouse

The house was clean and spacious and had everything I could have possibly wanted (two exceptions: scissors and a lighter or matches to jump-start the fire pit). The kitchen was so impressive--there was every kind of dish, pot, pan, container for leftovers, even cookbooks. Plenty of board games and puzzles to choose from, too. The back deck was awesome, and the sound of the river right beyond the property was very relaxing (also great white noise at night). Easy driving distance to Wallingford, Belford, and Rutland.

The proximity to a main road meant you can hear cars quite well during the day. This wasn't a problem at night at all. The couch had a musty smell to it that was slightly off-putting--I think the property allows dogs, which would explain this. If you're a dog person, you might not even notice this (I am not a dog person).
