Coogee Bright Beachside Garden Retreat - COOG2

Location is excellent as is the value!

The wifi is very slow and the phone service with Optus is no much better. Not ideal for doing work calls on Teams or Zoom.

We loved this property - close to Coogee town centre, the Eastern beaches (Coogee Beach, Clovelly and Mahon Pool our favourites), great coffee shops, parks, restaurants (Rick Stein's) and hotels (CBH or Coogee Beach Hotel a favourite haunt with the locals). Property had all the amenities you'd need on holiday. Loved the veranda, BBQ and able to dine al fresco. Great views across Coogee Beach and ocean, quite location in the evening.

Property was great - no dislikes. Need a little warning (ha!ha!) about the hills in Coogee, Marouba and Randwick. We got used to this over time.

Location … just 4-5 mins downhill to beach & c15 min walk to town / shops / cafes etc Coogee beach is much nicer than Bondi (imo)

The location is great, can see the sunrise from the apartment, short walk to the baths and down to the beach. I especially liked the ladies baths, I saw a pod of dolphins swim by one morning! Very comfortable apartment, everything we needed for an 8 night stay.

The photos in the listing have been heavily edited. The apartment, while still lovely, has a lot more visible wear and tear than what is presented in the photos. I think they must have used AI because the toilet has switched sides in one of the photos. It's just a matter of setting expectations, I would still happily stay there, but I was definitely disappointed by how run down the apartment was in comparison to the photos. A new toilet seat would be an easy upgrade as an example. Be warned, the hill back up from town is extremely steep. I was there with my elderly parents, and it caused some issues not realising how steep the walk up is, especially for a long stay. This is not an issue if you are in good health, good mobility, or happy to take an uber home, but def worth knowing. Finally, it too a long time to get my security deposit back (four weeks), with a lot of back and forth emails required.
