Mvuvi Fishing Lodge

There is a nice swimming pool and the place is rather quiet at night. A big supermarket is right in front and that a very confortable.

It Is not located near the centre or near any recommences beach. The utilities of the kitchen are very basic.

Overal impression: - The accommodation is charming and compact. - The staff is very friendly and food was very good. Restaurant: - We had breakfast included and was very filling. - When we had dinner and lunch the dishes were fresh, good, and tasty with big portions. Staff: - The reception was very good, Kai the facility manager was very helpful and ready to support to move around (electric tuk-tuk) and connect with the main providers of touristic activities (diving, reef, etc.). Room: - Bed was comfortable and they provide amenities in the bathroom, which was appreciated. - The room had a porch with a comfy sofa perfect to chill in the evening (mosquito repellent needed)

Room: - The room was a bit small for our taste. - The AC was very noisy and it was very disruptive when sleeping. - The bathroom was a bit old but functional. Cleaning service: - Some days we had to remind to bring towels for both instead of one. Other facilities: - The swimming pool it is just fine, enough for refreshing and chill. But it is located in the middle of the facility surrounded by reception, dinning area and bar, which give you very little privacy. Location to the beach and other Watamu's spots: - It is in a road a bit isolated and not well pavemented. - You need tuk tuk to go to everyplace. - Although it is 5 minutes walk to the beach through Oceans Sport resort, the beach there is not the best. If you want to go to turttle beach and/or Garoda beach you need to walk through the road 15 minutes to get to the access.

This little resort was a great value compared to more expensive properties in the area. Breakfast was very nice, the rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and everything was very clean. The staff was very friendly.

The variety of activities and how to arrange them with the front desk could have been a little clearer upon check in.

Mvuvi's location and staff are great. It's a cosy lodge and well equipped with a bar, restaurant, and pool on the premises. The budget room was small but fairly comfortable.

Unfortunately, we had a difficult experience. Mvuvi operates a bar, which is nice, but they kept it open playing loud music until after 1:30am on a Sunday night (after we had repeatedly asked for the music to be turned down). The physical layout is compact, with rooms only 10-15 meters from the bar and their doors facing it directly. It was impossible to sleep, and the bar patrons were not staying at the hotel, but rather attendees. The staff member running the bar tried to help, but he also couldn't get them to quiet down until very late. The budget room was also a little musty and could have been improved with better ventilation! Mvuvi has a nice layout and welcoming people, but management needs to consider the sleeping guests as well as the bar profits. It has a lot of potential and I hope they can solve this hopefully infrequent issue and be a great place to stay. All the best.
