We spent 7 nights at the hotel in a Family Room. The hotel is very neat and clean. The room design is very good, but more privacy for the toilet and shower (located in between the 2 rooms) would be better. All the staff were really friendly, welcoming and very helpful from the first to the last moment. Room service and housekeeping are very responsive. The food quality was quite good, with different themes for dinner every night. Perhaps more variety at breakfast could improve the experience, but nothing to complain about though. Hotel facilities are nice, 3 well maintained swimming pools spread across the hotel, along with a nice long beach (although the tide is a bit of a problem, but that's almost the same problem everywhere in Zanzibar). Distance from most tourist attractions is approx. 1 hour, which is more or less the same for most hotels, I won't consider this a negative by any means. A very good experience overall, would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

Our stay was good overall, but did leave a few things to be desired. The food at the included restaurants was mediocre at best. While it was plentiful and there were many options, the quality was not great. Most was extremely greasy, and not fresh. The items in the warmers had either been on there for quite some time or were not cooked correctly to begin with. Laundry can only be returned 24 hours after dropping it, not same day, or next day like most 5 star hotels I have been at but there was no information about this available unless one inquired at the front desk. The staff were able to locate a basin for me to wash my own clothes since the laundry service could not accommodate them which was really nice. The room was spacious, but the front door did not latch, requiring it to be locked in order to close it. There were 3 of us in the room, but only 1 key available. Not a dealbreaker, but not ideal for sure. The pool boys were the absolute highlight of our stay and always went over and above to make sure our deck and pool area was clean and well supplied. The front desk staff were cordial and professional, but did not go out of their way when it came to hospitality. Overall, the stay was good and I would recommend it to others, but not what I would expect out of a 5 star resort. If I stayed here again, I would not include the food and would opt to go to nearby restaurants instead.

We enjoyed the time we spent at the Resort. The staff was great and very hospitable. There could however be an improvement in the Kids'club offerings and Choice of inhouse excursions agent. The family rooms could do with an upgrade of the furniture.
