Settha Palace Hotel

Beautiful heritage hotel with great service. The staff were very helpful. The room was lovely, with high ceilings and period decoration. As we were there during low season, breakfast was cooked to order, and there were plenty of Western and local options to choose from, including fresh fruit, eggs, etc. Nice pool and gardens. The hotel is only 10-15 minutes walk from sights such as Patuxai, Wat Sisaket and the riverfront (although Vientiane is not great for walking due to the traffic and the broken or obstructed pavements).

There was noise at night from some nearby bars playing loud music until 2am. Perhaps a room facing the other direction would have been quieter.

A beautiful old French style hotel set within walking distance of town. The rooms were large and really nicely decorated and the pool was much appreciated in the heat of the summer. The staff were exceptional - they absolutely made the trip and were warm and welcoming to the extreme.

The food was fine but rather overpriced vs other hotels / in town. I was there over the quiet time so it may be that this is different in high season when more people are around. There's no lift (but staff on hand to help with luggage).
