We had a wonderful stay at The Waters in Motueka. The location is fantastic — peaceful, beautifully situated, and a perfect base to explore the area while still feeling like a proper retreat.
What truly made the difference, though, was the hospitality. Lou and Aiden are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring hosts. You instantly feel welcome — not like a booking, but like a guest they’re truly happy to have.
Breakfast deserves a special mention: lovingly prepared, high quality, and simply delicious — exactly the kind of start to the day you hope for while traveling.
And then there are the “resident managers”: Darcie the dog (adorable and full of charm) and Vivienne the cat (equally sweet). Their little daily presence made the whole place feel even more homey and special.
If you’re coming to Motueka, don’t overthink it — stay here. We’d happily return anytime.

The location and view was amazing. The room was very well designed and comfortable.
