We really enjoyed the tour of the house and its history. The grounds are really beautiful. There was such a large area of the house and its grounds that were available to roam. The hosts are very skilled at being available and exceptionally helpful without ever being over-visible. They also made it very easy to interact with other guests if you wanted to .

The wifi was down for a while and the location doesn't offer a great internet signal. I think the price range for the rooms could reflect the big difference between the suites and the rooms a little more accurately

Perfection.

The chateau is stunning both inside and out, having been lovingly restored by Klaus and Soren. The interior is exquisite, every room furnished with beautiful antiques and artwork. The surrounding park is a haven of peace but is only a short car or bike ride from the charming town of Bagnoles. The hospitality was of the same high standards as the accommodation: Klaus and Soren were perfect hosts. They went out of their way to be helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were able to create a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, such that we felt we were friends as well as guests. The breakfasts are fantastic, whether taken out on the terrace or in the beautiful dining room.

Beautiful French chateau that has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored by the present owners. We can only imagine it getting better and better as Klaus and his partner continue to develop this wonderful building. We’ll be back!

Live like a queen….!

Super friendly and very professional hosts. Fabulous chateau which has been lovingly renovated and as a guest you have access to the various salons, library and terrace. The chateau is located in an enormous park with mature trees. A healthy Breakfast is served in the dining room. Spacious bedroom and with lots of luxurious touches such as bathrobes, fluffy thick towels and Molton Brown toiletries. Enjoyed every moment and will definitely visit again.

Chateau du Gue aux Bisches is a magical place and it is hard to overstate the beauty of the property, the rooms and the grounds. Soren and Klaus were the best hosts we have ever come across and they couldn't do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay to the utmost. If I could score everything 11/10 then I would!

Nothing, everything was well prepared by the hosts and presented in an impeccable manner. They went out of their way to ensure that everything was to our satisfaction ! We were considered more as friends rather than guests by the hosts. The chateau is very well decorated and furnished appropriately. A well done job ! Un séjour inoubliable. Soren et Klaus étaient vraiment accueillants et attentionnés. Le lieu était magique, encore mieux que tout ce que nous pouvions espérer. Le petit déjeuner était parfait, avec de très bons produits de la région et fait maison. Mon partenaire et moi recommandons vivement ce séjour, que ce soit pour le lieu ou pour les hôtes vous pouvez venir les yeux fermés vous ne serez pas déçus. Cela nous donne même vraiment envie de revenir.

Chateau a l'ambiance magique et accueil extrêmement chaleureux!

Notre séjour au Château du Gué aux Biches a vraiment été le plus beau que nous ayons fait sur Booking jusqu’à présent. Le lieu est magnifique, chargé d’histoire et parfaitement restauré. La chambre était spacieuse, calme, avec une très belle vue sur le parc. Tout était confortable et soigné, du lit à la salle de bain. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié les espaces communs, notamment les salons, qui donnent vraiment l’impression d’être accueilli dans une grande maison plutôt que dans un hôtel. L’accueil a été un vrai point fort grace a Soren et Klaus : très chaleureux, attentionné, discret, vraiment agréable. On se sent tout de suite bien, et ça change tout dans l’expérience. Le petit-déjeuner était délicieux, et servi dans un cadre superbe — un vrai moment à part. Et détail pratique mais important : la borne de recharge pour voitures électriques fonctionne parfaitement, avec un tarif très raisonnable. Cela a rendu notre séjour encore plus simple. Accueil très chaleureux de Klaus et Soren qui sont de charmantes personnes très à l’écoute. Le château tant extérieur qu’intérieur a été restauré avec un goût affirmé et l’on s’y sent tout de suite bien, comme chez nous. L'enfilade des pièces du rez-de-chaussée est impressionnante. La bibliothèque attenante est jolie. Tout est beau, de bon goût. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien aménagées, la vue sur la nature est époustouflante. Le Petit-déjeuner est impeccable. Avant de partir, la visite du château en « tour du propriétaire » est le clou du séjour, à ne rater sous aucun prétexte. Merci à Klaus et Soren pour ce séjour mémorable.

Dieser Ort ist die reine Magie. Ich habe noch nie in meinem Leben, in so einem umwerfenden Hotel gewohnt. Selbst das Waldhaus in Sils (viel zu gross) oder das InterConti in Paris, das Ritz in Wolfsburg (viel zu unpersönlich) alles nicht vergleichbar. This place is unique. Very, very special. Incontournable si vous etes dans la region. Leider kann ich mir so ein Hotel nur wenige Tage leisten. Aber es wirkt wie ein Antidepressiva. Man wird aus dem Alltag in eine Art Traumwelt gezogen. Die wunderbare Einrichtung. Diese Räume. Ich habe mir das Haus morgens, mittags, abends angschaut. Es ist jedes mal anders. Immer wieder hat es mich bezaubert. Wundebar, Magnifique. Wonderful. Thank you for this place being a part of it.

They promised me a ghost living in the castle. No ghost at any time. ;-) I was even checking at midnight. Nothing. A safe place. Ich könnte mir hier schöne Dinner vorstellen, rauschende Feste. DIe Gewächshäuser würde ich wieder reaktiveren. Ein kleines Cafê hinten bei den Gewächshäusern. Das wäre aber die berühmte cerise sur gateau.

Als perfectie een naam heeft dan heet het Klaus en Soren!

Het was een meer dan fantastische ervaring. Het kasteel is omgeven door een mooi onderhouden park, bijbehorend bos en een gezellig terras om een drankje te drinken. De ruime suites hebben heerlijke bedden, mooie badkamer en zijn prachtig en stijlvol ingericht. Elke ochtend een uitgebreid ontbijt met verse croissants en lokale lekkernijen. Daarnaast was de gastvrijheid echt oprecht en hartelijk. De rondleiding van Klaus over de geschiedenis van het kasteel en de intensieve restauratie liet alles op zijn plek vallen voor de toewijding die je voelt. Binnen een dag voelt het als thuis. We komen dit jaar nog weer terug!

Grootse gastvrijheid in een weelderige ambiance!

Het Chateau is prachtig gerestaureerd door de twee Deense gastheren Klaus en Søren. Ze hebben er een oase van rust, elegantie en comfort van gemaakt. De omgeving is van een pastorale schoonheid in een relatief onbekende hoek van Frankrijk. De ontvangst van de gastheren is zeer gastvrij. Ze hebben een zeldzaam talent de gasten het naar de zin te maken met uitstekende suggesties voor activiteiten en tips voor restaurants en tegelijk ongemerkt en discreet iedereen zijn vrijheid te laten. De ambiance en uitstraling van het landgoed overstijgt menig “grand hôtel”. Je waant je in het belle epoque maar dan met alle gemakken van de huidige tijd. Het spreekt bijna voor zich dat in deze entourage ook het ontbijt groots is.

Nous avons passé un séjour absolument merveilleux au château du Gue aux Biches ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par nos hôtes, dont la convivialité et l’attention nous ont immédiatement mis à l’aise. Le cadre est tout simplement enchanteur : un château plein de charme, entouré d’un parc où il fait bon se promener et se détendre. Les chambres sont décorées avec beaucoup de goût, mêlant élégance et authenticité. Chaque détail est soigné, et l’atmosphère qui règne dans le château nous transporte dans une autre époque tout en offrant un confort moderne. Un immense merci à nos hôtes pour leur hospitalité et leur gentillesse ! Nous repartons avec des souvenirs inoubliables et l’envie de revenir très vite. A bientôt Søren et Etienne !
