LUXURIOUS Grand 18th C. Country House set in large gardens with pool

Ideal venue for a special family holiday, full of wonderful hidden rooms & staircases for grandchildren to explore and ideal accommodation to host several families within a bigger family. Local area is clean, safe & friendly but nowhere to eat out. Need to travel to all attractions and, although we had cars parking was often a nightmare, so we ended up using uber/bolt quite a bit. Roberta (property manager) was always extremely prompt and friendly in her replies and happy to help with even the most trivial question - thank you!

We had a great week at this spacious, comfortable, and architecturally impressive property. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable, and there's plenty of space for everyone to relax. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor areas. The pool is great, and there are spots in the sun and plenty of shade, so everyone can find their ideal place to lounge. For those who want to get away from it all, there are plenty of balconies, terraces, and quiet nooks.The outdoor dining and BBQ area is a highlight. We had some fantastic meals there, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Although hiring the brilliant Matthew to cater for a birthday celebration was a highlight. We didn't rent cars, which was a concern at first, but it turned out to be a non-issue. We found convenient local shops to supplement our online grocery deliveries. While there isn't much right on the doorstep, getting around the island was easy and cheap. We used various mobile apps to book taxis, which were readily available and made exploring easy.Overall, this villa provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable holiday. We would highly recommend it!

We spent a midweek in this villa with colleagues and were blown away by the atmosphere and character of the place. It truly felt like an oasis of peace. The garden was in full bloom, beautifully maintained, and the pool turned out to be even larger than expected – everyone loved it. The various small terraces and inner courtyards were perfect for relaxing in smaller groups. The outdoor kitchen and BBQ area were a great bonus. All in all, an ideal spot for larger groups looking for comfort, space, and a bit of magic. Highly recommended!

Our family spent a delightful week at Casa San Rocco the first week of July to celebrate a significant anniversary. We were 8 adults and 6 children (from 20 months to 16 years). This property easily accommodated our group with lots of areas to gather, as well as plenty of secluded nooks for a quiet read.The house is very large and beautifully furnished with several outside terraces and a lovely pool. The grounds are so comfortable that it was tempting to just stay at the villa to enjoy the day.But our group found Malta so interesting that we were all off in different directions every day to explore something new, coming back late in the afternoon to enjoy the pool and dinner prepared by Chef Matthew Attard. We had originally booked Matthew for 3 nights but after tasting his food on our first night, booked him for any remaining nights he had free. Matthew is a gifted chef and added a lot to our enjoyment of Casa San Rocco.The house is located in Hal Ghaxaq, a village which is centrally located in the southern part of the island. Our group had rented 1 large van and we also used Nick’s Chauffeur Services. Nick’s drivers are excellent and also a font of knowledge about Malta – sites to visit, history, politics, etc. We highly recommend them.One of the highlights of our week was an all day excursion on the catamaran Maxim with skipper Ada Cuciuc. This was an adventure that will long be remembered. Thanks Ada!And, I must also say thanks to Connie, the housekeeper, who helped to make our stay so comfortable. We had a great week at this beautiful property.
