Villa Martha

Everything was perfect! The house is very clean and nice. Shower is clean and good. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Location is good, few minutes to the beach and town center. AC is working well. It exceeded our expectations.

There are loud frogs outside in the evening. They live in a river near and get loud in the evening. Everything else was good. Nothing to complain about!

The hosts at Villa Martha (Dimitri and Martha) were lovely - friendly, attentive and welcoming. The apartment (number 4) was located on the ground floor of a two storey villa, on a narrow side road, surrounded by other similar well maintained villas, just off the main stretch of shops and restaurants. The small beach was only a few minutes walk away too, and was easy to access (no steep slopes or steps like some of the other Corfu beaches). The apartment was small but had all the essentials, including a small kitchen area, with fridge, electric hob, and sink, a decent sized bathroom , a comfortable double bed (two singles pushed together), and a balcony/veranda with a table and two chairs. The room was cleaned and towels replaced every couple of days. A welcome pack of coffee, milk sachets, sugar, biscuits and home made kumquat jam (a Corfu speciality) was provided in the kitchen. We were able to park on the drive at the front of the villa. Benitses is a 15 minute drive to Corfu Town, which is a wonderful place!

The photo on the listing did not match anywhere we could see of the villa. We were expecting a garden, but instead the balcony overlooked the drive (which did have one lovely old olive tree and some pretty flower beds) and the road to the other villas. The hot water in the apartment took a long time to come through (apparently it was at the end of the run, after the other apartments) - it was ok once we got used to waiting! It would have been a nicer stay if the veranda chairs were more comfortable (maybe upholstered chairs or sun loungers?). The beaches on the east side of the island all seem to be quite gritty and stoney - not very comfortable to lie on without some padding or a lounger!

Villa Martha is a great place to stay at if you are traveling to Benitses. The hosts are absolutely delightful, very helpful and cheerful people. Dimitri is wonderful and even gave us advice on where to go, what to see and some tips in order to find free parking in the other parts of the island we were visiting. The rooms are comfortable and they're cleaned every day. There are a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops nearby, as well as a small beach with very warm and clean water.

The only part which wasn't a 10 out of 10 was finding the actual property, as the narrow streets of Benitses are quite confusing and the google maps location of the villa isn't completely accurate. It is best to park at the large Benitses free parking and contact the hosts, as the villa is only a 2 minute walk from there.

Hidden gem if you are looking for traditional Greek layback chilled peaceful surroundings this is the place just return from a week stay waking up every morning looking out to orange /lemon tress grape vines trees birds singing 😀 perfect way to recharge, walking distance to lovely bakery at the bottom of the lane fab restaurants shops supermarkets, taxi rank across the road beautiful sea and small beach everything we needed for making fab memories in beautiful benitses definitely be back also you can catch number 6 bus into corfu at the bus stop buy return tickets in the super market cost 6.40euro return for me and my hubby👍The owners are so welcoming nothing is a problem room cleaned every day water in the fridge when we arrived homemade jam and cookies 🍪 the apartment caters for all ya needs even a umbrella for the beach line/pegs to put ya washing out. missing 😔sitting on the balcony in the morning having my coffee and looking out to the fab view we stayed in number 14 get it booked you will make great memories at villa Martha thank you again for fab holiday 🥰
