Actually a nice hotel, a bit run down and needs some upgrade works, but it is in superb location and probably a good choice for those who want to explore Kathmandu’s nightlife. They even have ear-plugs in the room - which tells you everything.
However, the staff has a bit of a strange attitude. The key card reader in the room didn’t work probably. Tried it x times together with their staff, but the manager said we just did it wrong, instead of calling a technician he wanted to proof us wrong.
When I asked for a restaurant recommendation he said they have their own restaurant and I would get 20% off for room service. I said - I want to explore and eat outside, his answer: still - room service is best.
Upon departure I was a little tight for my flight, checked out, the guy told me I have to stay until they have checked the minibar. I told him I don’t have time to wait and need to leave, promised that I didn’t touch the minibar. He was about to call security but eventually let me go.
Fun Fact - I forgot my charger in the room. Never heard from them - so apparently the check of the inventory in the room is more a one-way street.
