A beautiful location and cozy cabin. Lighthouse staff were great and everyone we met was very friendly. A lovely stay on the coast.

The 2 bedroom house was newly remodeled. Very comfortable. Our window overlooked the ocean, front and back and the lighthouse.

Booked accessible room. It had a king bed It was small for a person in a wheelchair plus a companion. The bathroom was huge tho. Asked to be moved and they were very accommodating but since other rooms had step downs we decided to separate the bed into twins, which gave us more room for the chair to maneuver. The property is beautiful and quiet. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed our stay. If you need to book the accessible room, be sure to ask for twin beds from the get go.

It’s beautiful to stay here. Quiet and clean. A little bench by the door so you can sit under the eves and see the ocean. Bring what you need it’s a bit of a drive to grab things. Although, if you forget something, town has a few things if you’re not picky.

Near the lighthouse, unique experience

This is a fun place to visit with the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast. The Keeper's Apartment is very comfortable and well equipped, though we went into town to eat. Definitely visit the lighthouse and make the trek to the top. The weather wasn't great, but it was December. Still we had one day where it wasn't raining.

Exactly as we expected. Peaceful, quiet, (foggy a lot) and many trails around the coast to appreciate.

It was great. Lots of places to walk around and keep busy. Of course there is the light house.

Just a really unique experience to have uninterrupted views of the Mendocino coast out of windows on both sides of the house, and a view of the lighthouse from the bedroom! The place was clean and spacious. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner!

It was definitely cold here but my girlfriend and I were not only ready for it, it had been 110 degrees most of the week where we came from so it was a great getaway.
Very beautiful area. The lighthouse tour was free with our stay and we enjoyed it. Not a ton of food options around but good food nonetheless. Well taken care of property right on the ocean. It was a great retreat for an easy do nothing weekend.
Loved it.

This was, by far, the best trip my partner and I have ever been on, and had it not been for the staff at Point Arena Lighthouse, it likely wouldn’t have happened at all.
We had a family emergency and knew we had to cancel. The staff were so gentle and understanding, and even allowed us to try to offer the trip to my sister-in-law instead so it wouldn’t go to waste, but unfortunately she wasn’t able to go either. With broken hearts and exhausted spirits, we gave up.
But suddenly, without warning, an opportunity for our kiddo opened up and we were able to get them into the right support SIGNIFICANTLY earlier than we were told we’d be able to!! We jumped at the opportunity and our kiddo was in! We got home, sat down, and realized that we’d not be busy after all, and the staff graciously let us take back our notice of cancellation at the very last minute!
Every staff member we engaged with was kind and professional, and the property cat even let my partner pet her!
The views are UNREAL. Pro-tip: make a piping hot cup of coffee and hike the gazebo trail. Flocks of pelicans soaring at face-height, waves crashing against the cliffs, and seals basking in the sun below you. EPIC!!
2 days felt like a week of rest here. 10/10 will be back!!

My partner and I have a kiddo who has suffered mental health struggles their whole life, and who has recently taken a turn for the worse. We had this trip planned for months, but when we found ourselves back in and out of the ER again, we knew we had to cancel. The staff were so gentle and understanding, and even allowed us to try to offer the trip to my sister-in-law instead so it wouldn’t go to waste, but unfortunately she wasn’t able to go either. With broken hearts and exhausted spirits, we gave up.

The location is amazing and I was happy to support the non-profit working to maintain the property.
We stayed in the Head keeper's House which was well appointed and had great views of the lighthouse and of the surf. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace was cozy. In most ways it met or exceeded my expectations.
Unfortunately I can't give more than 3 stars as we woke up to a massive woodbug infestation. Maybe this was a one-off event but there were easily dozens of the insects crawling around when we got up, mostly around the main bedroom. My wife was offput by the carcases left on the floor that clearly remained from bugs we'd inadvertently stepped on during bathroom breaks over night.

We had a wonderful time at Point Arena Lighthouse. We stayed in the older, not-yet-renovated lodgings but everything was in good shape and clean. The property itself was great to explore and it was fun being there at night with no one else around. The tour guides were very friendly, as was the cat, Mina. The shop had a ton of gifts.
All of the houses looked like they had great views from both front and back. We were fogged in most of the time, but that's the risk you take at a lighthouse. We could watch seals sun bathe on the rocks below and there was plenty of hiking nearby.
The town of Point Arena is just a few miles away (within biking distance) and had several great places to eat. I'd recommend Gama and the New Museum.

It was amazing to go to sleep to the sound of the waves and wake up and see the lightghouse from sitting in the bed.

Such a cool experience to stay out by the lighthouse and explore the property! Worth every penny and it goes to a great cause of keeping up the property. You get free access to the tour that takes you to the top of the lighthouse and there are spectacular views from the top! Highly recommend!

There is nothing like a beautiful day at the beach. So staying overnight at the beach is awesome. Thank you for the memories.

I was traveling alone with my dog, we had the Bookkeeper’s Room, which was perfect for our time in Point Arena. I felt safe, and the room was very clean with coffee maker, fridge and microwave. ( It is always difficult to gauge which Point Arena restaurants will be open and when, so bringing food with is a must.) The walks around the property and at close-by Stornetta Lands were very healing, and I really enjoyed the Lighthouse tour. The staff at the gift shop and museum are all very kind and knowledgeable. Also, I didn’t see Mina all week, but she came to see us off while I was moving luggage to the car. She is a sweet mascot! I am highly recommending this destination to friends!!

We had a great time at the Point Arena Lighthouse! The space was clean and cozy, Mark was communicative and helpful, and they even gave us a personal tour of the lighthouse! Wished shampoo/conditioner were provided. Basic kitchen stuff (oil, spices) would have been great too. Super well appointed space otherwise. Would love to come back!

Pros:
The location is perfect. It’s a beautiful property surrounded by the water. The view from the window is peaceful. Check-in was easy and contactless.
Cons:
- I was staying at Keeper’s Room and unfortunately I could hear my neighbours watching TV, laughing and talking all evening. Their dog was also barking / the room next door is pet friendly. If you are staying in this room in the winter be aware that the only heating unit is a loud electric fireplace - it tends to turn on an off every few minutes - it kept waking me up, so I ended up not getting much needed and anticipated rest… it’s also impossible to switch off the “fake” flame without turning off the whole thing, so it stays bright at night.
- there were tiny bugs on the floor - I am not afraid of bugs so I didn’t care too much but somebody may find it gross
- there are racoons on the property - in the morning my car was covered in their muddy paw prints. If you have a nice car be aware that they may scratch your paint.
Summing up - nice place but not for this price.

Everyone did their best to make sure the experience was a great one, from the housekeepers to the lighthouse executive director to the museum staff. Great base from which to explore the surrounding areas.

Beautiful, exclusive views as you are one of only 5 other rooms on the property. Lighthouse kitty made a visit on the last day.
