It is a fabulous place to stay, if your old enough to remember when hotels were run by people who cared and not bean counters you will enjoy this hotel. If you’re not that old this hotel will be a revelation.
Properly managed and run, spotlessly clean the restaurant service is perfection. If you are staying in Peniscola you would want to be close to the citadel and the beach this hotel is perfectly sited.

Hostería del Mar is, I suspect, the best hotel in Peñiscola. Maybe not the cheapest, nor the most expensive but true Spanish high quality hospitality. The building itself is well maintained, having been built in 1966, and has style you rarely see anymore. The decor and cleanliness was top quality, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room with small balcony and a view of the sea was spacious and very clean; the bed was firm and comfortable, with two pillows each. The breakfast was generous, including hot food (eggs, bacon, potato frittata). There was also traditional Spanish breakfast dish of bread/tostada, tomato and jamon, plus yoghurt, fruit, cereal, pastries etc. The hotel swimming pool looked inviting but it was a little too cool for us. The outdoor bar and garden area was relaxing and staff there were friendly and attentive too. Highly recommend this place!

Great spot on the beach front, big secure parking, very nice, clean, comfortable hotel with amazing food, best breakfast in Spain
