About this apartment rental
I BASTIONI DEL PAPIRETO is an apartment located on the main floor of Palazzo Guccia, a historic building constructed in the 18th century on the Papireto bastion—also known as the Balata bastion—which was part of the city’s 16th-century wall system.
Very close to the city’s main attractions (the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Palatine Chapel, and historic markets), the palace is strategically located, allowing guests to explore the historic center on foot.
Palace It was built by Marquis Guccia Bonomolo, who was granted permission by the state to construct the building on the embankment of the Papireto bastion.
The palace’s main entrance is surmounted by the Guccia family’s coat of arms: a shield depicting a stormy sea, topped by an open shell onto which eight drops fall, flanked by two seven-pointed stars.
Upon passing through the entrance door, one steps into a courtyard dominated by a classical portal from which a double flight of stairs in pink Verona marble ascends.
On the right side of the courtyard is a fountain, once richly ornamented and currently undergoing restoration.
The apartment
has been recently restored, preserving its distinctive historical features.
Access is via the wide and comfortable main staircase that characterizes the building’s courtyard.
Once through the front door, you enter a spacious balcony shared with the apartment on the upper floor, which is the owner’s residence.
A second door leads into the apartment, which welcomes guests with a living area featuring a comfortable sofa and a smart TV.
Continuing on, you’ll find the dining room and the kitchenette. The kitchenette is fully equipped (induction cooktop, Nespresso coffee machine, refrigerator with freezer, and a wide variety of kitchen utensils and dishes).
The apartment features two bedrooms.
The first bedroom features a large double bed adorned with soft pillows, a spacious four-door wardrobe, and a beautiful antique trunk.
The second bedroom features a comfortable single bed, notable for its unique color scheme, and an antique desk.
Rounding out the apartment’s decor are antique armchairs, floor lamps, and wall sconces.
The bathroom is equipped with a two-person shower.
Finally, the apartment is equipped with a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, and air conditioning.
For those arriving by car, free street parking is available, or paid parking is available at the nearby Tribunale parking lot.
A transfer service to and from Palermo Airport is available.

We travel a lot and we his was one of the most unique properties that we have ever had the chance to stay in. It is in an old palace from the 1800’s that is in the city wall. So much charm, history and.character. The entrance is a bit run down but nice in the suite it is very clean and looks like the pics. The main draw back is the road noise but we just used ear plugs to sleep and we were fine.

I chose this apartment based on the beautiful interiors and its close proximity to the town center, along with parking. If you're arriving by car it's a little difficult to find the narrow street entrance due to one way traffic all around this area. Study your maps ahead of time and be sure to have a reliable GPS on your phone or in your car. The owners were very attentive and helpful and we appreciated the easy walk into the center of town. The apartment itself is beautifully done, with exposed beams and stone. Plenty of supplies to meet your everyday needs. We especially appreciated the laundry facilities on site.
