About this house rental

The Coman's beach house is a newly restored 1966 mid century modern costal style home. It sits 30' back from a no bank bulked with steps down to beach access. The two main bedrooms on the top floor face the water sunrise is amazing and there are blackout curtains if you don't want the light to wake you up. There are two decks one upper level off of the bedrooms and one lower off of the kitchen living area. The kids room has a twin over full bunk bed with a twin trundle and a princess tent. This place is great for all seasons with fishing swimming floating during the summer and hiking staying in with the unique round wood stove and movie on the projector screen. The location is very close to everything the area has to offer but most of the time you don't want to leave the property.( Note: The lower bath was not restored but is fully functional) We

The house itself is great! It had everything we needed and more.Appreciated the kayaks!The location is a little worse than expected. VERY close to the highway 101 which can be quite loud. So sleep wasn't that great and parking and getting out of the hosue was almost dangerous. It's walking distance to the town but the walk also felt quite dangerous -no sidewalk and cars going well past speed limit. There is also a construction next to the house but either we got lucky or they stopped -so it didn't bother us. Overall we had a nice stay, though. Thank you!

Lovely location and house is updated nicely. The waterfront location and patio are gorgeous. We enjoyed watching the birds and the seals. The stairs from the bedrooms to the kitchen and great room were scary for my elderly parents. Need a handrail on both sides. Couldn't locate any smoke detectors. The parking is bad. Having to back in a SUV which forces you to be in the road where traffic is coming at 50mph was absolutely terrible.

This stay was beyond our expectations. The location is in town within walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is also close to all the activities of the Olympic National Park. The house is newly remodeled and is in impeccable condition. There was everything we needed for a wonderful short stay including lawn chairs and kayaks. We would love to come back again next year. Highly recommended.

This adorable, quirky beach home overlooking Hood Canal was perfect! It was clean, had a fully stocked kitchen too. Only negatives were the propane canisters for the grill were all empty and the a/c didn’t cool the house down enough. But we opened the sliding doors and were able to cool it down that way. We look forward to renting this place again!

Such a cool home with an unbeatable view! The house was clean and the beds were comfortable and the location was perfect we were able to walk to everywhere in Hoodsport. Checking in and out was seamless. We kayaked every day it was really fun and the host was very easy to contact and even allowed us to check in early. What a wonderful experience, would 100% book again!

This is probably my fave place I've ever stayed! It is absolutely beautiful and I loved waking up and watching with the binoculars for wildlife. This bnb has absolutely everything you could need and more. We are already wanting to come back next year!

This lovely spacious house gave us the freedom of our own space to enjoy. Almost all the amenities of home with so many thought-filled extras for those little things we may have forgotten. Very clean and well kept. I loved the view of the canal, the seals cruising by checking out the humans, the birds resting on the piling, the lights across the canal at night and did I mention the peace. It was a little difficult to leave in the mornings to go adventuring because of the lovely view and just wanting to sit in peaceful stillness watching the canal. A warm and comfortable home to return to with snuggly comforters to wrap up in. A very well appointed kitchen to prepare a meal. We will likely return for a longer stay, for just there, to explore more. Thank you so very much for a lovely stay.

My family and I have thought, and talked, about this since we left the property back before the new year. The conflict is that the house has such a great location (street proximity excluded) and tons of potential, but just falls short on almost everything else. Uncomfortable beds with thin blankets and pillows (didn’t actually know they made them that thin) and no extras anywhere to be found. No place to sit in common areas (with the exception of a very comfortable couch in the entry area, upstairs from main living room). Advertised that the built-in seating was very comfortable and a place you could hang out. Very shallow seat and a vinyl thin cushion that slide off at the first shift in your back side. We quickly gave up on that. The advertised reason of hanging in that area was moot because the projector did not work. It is not connected to any streaming service, nor cable. Large amount of DVD’s but it would not connect to projector. Reached out to owner but his response was that the instructions were in the binder (binder was bare empty). Not to fret though. There are two other TV’s in the bedrooms. Oh no, they require you to have a PIN number to access them. No PIN number provided. Seems like a simple thing, but no. Kitchen was nice but we had to share it with a large quantity of ants that very quickly showed up in two of the three bedrooms. Very strong mildew smell in the house. Really were excited to have a place that we could revisit on the canal but not here.

This is a great place right on the canal. The master bed is so comfy. Jeff provides everything you need for a great and relaxing trip. We've stayed 3 times and already booked for our next trip. There is nothing like the clear water on the canal,and a nice lawn to sut and enjoy.

We all really enjoyed our stay at this property. The beds were great. The house was decorated well. It’s great for all ages. The only downfall to us was the road. It’s very busy and hard to see to get out on the road. The property Owner responded quickly when asked a question, the house is absolutely gorgeous.

The property was exactly as described and proved to be the perfect beach house for our family of four. Breathtaking views to take in from the back porch, a fun beach to explore on the outgoing tide, well equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. All this within walking distance of coffee shop, brewery, restaurants, bait and tackle shop, and grocery/hardware store. Five stars. Would recommend.

The place is beautifully redone. Really top notch. Gorgeous views, right on the sound. We drove into town even though it was as only a 5 minute walk because it’s right on the 101 and the trucks are scary. Had a fabulous time on the lake Lena hike, staircase rapids hike, oysters at Hama Hama, and crunching along the seashore. We tried out the old hardware distillery too.

A small group of family and friends enjoyed the house for a weekend getaway. The downstairs was a perfect area to hang out and play cards while enjoying views of the water. The upstairs bedrooms were unexpectedly large and quite comfortable. Great location and easy check in made everything even better!

This was a beautiful space for my partner and some friends. Beautiful waking up in the morning right on the coast. Saw salmon swimming right by the ledge and woke up to sea lions. Jeffrey was great and helpful and really loved the proximity to lake Cushman and hoodsport.

Lots to appreciate about this place -- great location; incredible views; comfortable beds; nice (and responsive) owner. However ... the remodel that was touted in the listing is still in progress. One bathroom is partially gutted. Whoever did the electrical was clearly not an electrician (several notable issues that would not pass inspection, such as outlets covered by baseboards). There are no instructions for the stereo or movie projector described in the listing. And the unit was not professionally cleaned. At a lower price point, this would be a good find. But it is currently over-priced for what is being offered.
