We were a little apprehensive of the 9th Ward area but the house was cozy and very clean. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. The neighbors were friendly. It was close to shopping areas and less than 20 minutes from Bourbon St. As an FYI, please don't let the Google pictures deter you as the house has been fully renovated.
