A Place at the Beach is a gated, oceanfront complex that sits at the doorstep of Fort Macon State Park. There's a plank boardwalk leading onto the sand, as well as four beach chairs, an umbrella, small coolers, and a beach wagon provided by the owner for your use.
On the grounds of the property, enjoy a large outdoor pool with a waterslide (and refreshments for sale), an indoor pool, tennis and basketball courts, shuffleboard, miniature golf, outdoor bowling, and a grilling area with picnic tables. There are even special events throughout the year, from live music to Easter egg hunts.

I expected it to be a bit cleaner. Pictures are not accurate need to be updated. The coffee pot was not a keiurg like advertised and we brought the wrong coffee. Different chair in the living space too. Bed was uncomfortable could use updating along with pillows.

Loved everything: unit, amenities, staff, closeness to the beach. Did not love the bed in the main bedroom. I did not get any rest for the two nights I was there.

Had a great time riding down the slide at the pool with my kids! The room could’ve been cleaned better but everything else was nice.
