The John Barleycorn Home is a comfy celebration of Portland & Oregon's food and drink culture. Just 2 blocks from Division Street's many restaurants; 13- minute drive to downtown Portland, or take the frequent #2 bus; 6-minute drive to Reed College; 13-minutes to OHSU Hospital across the Ross Island Bridge; 19 minutes to the Convention Center.
The John Barleycorn Home is in a safe, established and walkable neighborhood.
The home is ideal for families and friends; big enough with lots of rooms and spaces to relax, cozy enough for family and business gatherings.

A very unique and cozy home. Not that it's small, but there are many places to relax in comfort.Stuart has provided something for everyone - whether kids, music lovers (instruments and at least 3 technologies for playing recorded music), lovely backyard garden that we didn't get to enjoy because Portlandrain... the list goes on.And Stuart was tremendously helpful in giving us information on activities, both through the many guides he has written and left in the home, and via text messages.

Stuart is the host with the most, from providing refreshments to welcome us to clear instructions on how to use appliances, etc. He was quick to respond to questions.He even left a cauldron of Halloween candy for us to pass out to trick-or-treaters.

The home is a well a preserved Craftsman style house. The books, magazines, art and objects within reflect the interests of a "Renaissance man" encompassing in a wide range of intellectual, artistic and physical pursuits that provided an entertaining interior venue. Stewart's recommendations regarding restaurants were spot on. overall, our stay was very pleasant.
