An excellent place to stay in Forbach and the Schwarzwald! My family had such an awesome stay - the owners are awesome people and made our stay very memorable. They were very helpful with suggestions in the area and for helping with making dinner reservations. The breakfast is one of the best. We will definitely be back!

Staff were super helpful and accommodating. Room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good with lots of hot and cold options, including chia seeds, nuts and other toppings for yogurt. Would absolutely stay here again.

Everything about the stay was great: Personal, friendly service from the owner, a comfortable and quiet room, and an extensive breakfast buffet. There are also a couple of outdoor seating areas facing the river and plenty of beer and wine available for purchase from the mini-bar. Glad I found this hidden gem.

Run by a lovely young family, this place is a veritable retreat. We got a balcony room over the river and it was worth it. You can see the covered bridge, stars, and the church overlooking the property. The beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast is nice. The entire place is very cute, you can also book sauna for a reasonable fee as long as you tell them in advance. Out of all the places I've been this month, they have the best coffee. They have a children's area in the breakfast/dining room, this was very helpful for our kid.

Host was very helpful with where to go for sightseeing however there is no Ice machine and no ice bucket to chill a bottle of wine. Was giving Ice in a bowl. There is a onsite bar but it is not staffed. I was told not park in a space because the midsize SUV was too big, yet they let another guess with a bigger vehicle park in the same space.

Excellent gasthaus and its staff too! The location is idyllic as is the hotel itself. Good breakfast and clean rooms. Limited parking space but manageable, friendly and helpful gasthaus staff helped us out with finding a parking space. We had only one night stay here, but we should have spent more time here as the place was so nice overall. Definitely will come again.

Best hotel experience I ever had. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. The terrace by the river is incredible, a moment of peace and quiet under the stars in the night. Breakfast was really good as well.

Very nice hotel and such a warm welcome by the hosts! The village was a little bit 'boring', no shops, no bars/restaurants... but there was a good overview of possible routes to go hiking. We've enjoyed our stay!

What a wonderful surprise in the heart of the Black Forest. Our room was clean and relatvely large. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The Asian cuisine in the restaurant was well-prepared. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked. The setting by a river and coverd bridge was idyllic. Highly recommended.

An absolute 5 stars plus! The place is run by a young, polite and kind couple, its absolute prestine clean, the breakfast has a wide range of choice, the room was ample for a single person (I had a single room with balcony) its tranquile, and lovely! I had an early morning depart, so my last breakfast was packed up the previous night and was waiting foe me in the restaruant’s fridge. Only one little let down was the coffee maxhine in the lounge, but everuthing else was top class!

This hotel is immaculate and very inviting! The staff are very friendly and generous! Throughout our whole trip to Germany this one was my favorite! The views of the Black Forest are breath taking and the breakfast they serve is delicious! We arrived here towards the end of our trip and had quite a bit of dirty clothes. They allowed us to use their washer for a small fee and also provided us a clothes hanger to take back to our room. I love Forbach and hopeful to return again and definitely stay here! I can't recommend this enough!

Great service from the host. Is a nicely decorated house with little surprises at all corners! Nice view from the house by the river . A great option for some peaceful and relaxing moment with husband. Serve good breakfast . Would definitely come back for more hiking options closeby.

A fantastic stay. The owners were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. My kids loved the air hockey and the doughnuts at breakfast :) I would recommend a stay here if your in the area.

We stayed at Das Walhaus one night while passing through Forbach. The hotel was perfect. It was quiet, the room was spacious, and listening to the river all night was wonderful. Das Walhaus blew away all of my expectations.

The hotel is situated in the lovely sleepy village of Forbach. Right next to the beautiful wooden bridge. The village held a German Restaurant the hotel staff suggested. And I have to say the Pork Steak that several of us had was to die for. Best food of the trip. The hotel itself was lovely. We had a free upgrade to a room with a balcony and it overlooked the bridge. And the rolling hills / forest. Staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English.

Dad Waldhaus In Forbach was in a good and picturesque location for our driving tour of the Murgtal region. The breakfast was very good. Only a few local restaurants for other meals but they were good and interestingly local. Staying there entitles guests to free transportation in the region, which is great for hikers. Easily accessible by road from several directions with on site free parking.

Very well kept hotel. Staff very helpful when trying to plan days out, very knowledgeable on local areas. One morning we needed to leave early to catch a train so would of missed breakfast but they did us a pack up to take with us so we wouldn’t miss out. Also lent us some bikes so we could cycle the Tour de murg route, which was a great way to see the beauty of the Black Forest. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

This was our last night having driven to Italy for our holiday. The owners could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The family room in the attic was spacious and clean (just rather hot due to inadequate air conditioning unit). We had a lovely view of the river and old bridge and the breakfast provided was plentiful and delicious. Parking was directly outside and we enjoyed a good value, hearty German meal in one of the two village restaurants. Would definitely recommend thus charming hotel to others.

Lovely location, welcoming and courteous hosts made for a relaxing stay. All the staff members I encountered were helpful and had a ready smile. The owners are on site and are committed to providing excellent customer service as they gradually improve and update this hotel. They were proactive with suggestions about walks, places to eat and ways to get around easily. I will stay again.
