Self check in was straight forward. Hotel was no frills. Only ding is there was mold around window and bathroom.

We chose this hotel mainly for the air conditioning it offered in a heatwave, & it did provide huge relief. But the check-in procedure nearly killed us & other guests trying to check-in! We were emailed a code, & told that the office opened at 4. We arrived at 4.10, to find other guests fighting a remote check-in outside the hotel, unshaded, in 40 degree heat. There was a staff member inside the locked foyer, but they didn't respond to the frantic guests trying to gain their attention. One pair had apparently been trying to operate it for 20 minutes! Eventually, said staff member opened the door & took them inside to finish. It was then our turn, so I told my partner to follow them inside out of the sun. I started our check-in, conscious of a queue now building up behind me, & discovered that despite having already given my details & paid, this infernal system now wanted full details of my partner, plus a payment of local tax - all of which could have easily been done in advance. I finally managed to negotiate the system, (but now close to heatstroke myself) & inserted my card to pay the tax, when the staff member came outside, pulled my card from the machine & beckoned me into the foyer to join my very angry partner. When we got to our room, it was actually quite comfortable & COOL, but regardless of any benefits, we'd never stay there again with that stupid system. The consequences would have been serious if a guest suffered heat exhaustion/heart attack in such conditions.
