The inn owners are some of the best people you will ever meet!! They're so kind and caring, and I consider them friends for life now. The rooms are so cozy and this property is located right at Nishiki Market, just down the street from historic Gion. Out of all of the ryokons that I stayed at during my trip to Japan, this one (Room Momoyama) had the most comfortable futons and the most homely feel. You really feel like you're staying at someone's home while you're there. The woman who runs this ryokan is so sweet and grandmotherly, and her husband is a fantastic guy. If you want the best place to wind down for the day after navigating Kyoto's chaos, this is the place to go!

The Ryokan was located in a prime area and was very spacious for a Japanese standard. Every day, they provided bottled water and bottled ocha drinks, which were very helpful. We will definitely stay again if we visit Kyoto again.
