Irton Hall is a historic property in a quiet part of the Lake District but near to Eskdale, Wasdale and Ravenglass. They have kept the original buildings (no concrete hotel block behind) and the open lawn, across which a multitude of peacocks march around. The food in the bar was far better than normal bar food - my venison must have been stewed for hours, it was so dark, rich and tasty! Game pie was good too.

It's a tranquil peaceful place in beautiful countryside. Lovely breakfast/room and bath. No complaints. Enjoyed our stay
