Everything was as expected. Excellent good as usual

Tired decoration. Very thin walls. Doors to corridors leading to rooms are not locked and no one on site at night which felt very unsafe. Couldn’t shut the window as lock broken, cracked sink and dirty carpets. Coffee cups not changed or cleaned during 3 night stay. Never again.

I was a nice, pleasant hotel with good staff. Ground floor room so was a bit exposed, so could not open the curtains

Nice and clean room. Everything you need is in the room

If you enjoy a country retreat this will suit you very well. Short drive to the motoway, makes it easy to travel around. But you do need a car to get the best from this location.

Lovely grounds and room. Fridge had a rotten smell when we arrived. The outside entry grounds was untidy with rubbish and cigarette butts but the worst that greeted us was seeing a durex packet right at the front garden. We advised the staff about it but it remained there for the whole time we where there.

We stayed here for a wedding at the hotel and overall the experience was a mixed bag.
The positives were a very friendly receptionist checking us in, pretty comfortable bed and the breakfast was quite tasty.
The negatives were an uncomfortably warm room with no fan/AC. Bathroom was a bit small. For some reason they pipe awful Muzak around the grounds and corridors of the hotel all day and most of the night. There’s no residents bar but the bar staff didn’t tell us this when they sold us an array of drinks at just before 12, we were then told to vacate the place at dead on 12. The wedding coordinator was pretty obnoxious. We paid for late check out but nobody thought to tell housekeeping, who twice came into our room before check out time.
We’re highly unlikely to ever stay here again

Lovely bespoke hotel, great for family get together as it has a large garden area, a little off the beaten track so may struggle for transport links

As we knew about the party we expected the noise but the room itself was noisy and very uncomfortable. The bed was awful and extremely uncomfortable. The fridge was hot not cold. Couldn’t fault the staff very good.

Extremely noisy plumbing..can here plumbing working when other guests use taps or shower so you wake when your neighbour wakes whatever time that may be..bar is open till 12 so music will continue till then..they also play music through speakers located arpund the grounds..the light switch is located right next to fire alarm so watch what you reach for in the middle of the night when entering room..check in is 3pm BUT check out is 10am so lose out both sides..plugs are located on the floor away from the beds or bedside tables

We were initially given a room directly above the pub, which was extremely noisy. I had to request a room change, and to their credit, we were moved to an accessible room. While the new room was quieter, it did have several issues.
The main light in the room didn’t stay on properly, and the accessible bathroom was potentially hazardous — the shower flooring was incredibly slippery and not up to standard. This poses a serious risk, especially for those with mobility issues, and needs urgent attention before someone gets hurt.
Although there was a kettle and mugs in the room, there was no tea, coffee, or milk provided. A small but noticeable oversight.
Breakfast was another area of concern. It’s served from 8:30am, which is quite late, and when I politely asked if it was possible to order slightly earlier, one staff member was quite rude. Thankfully, another team member stepped in and kindly took our order. The food itself was fairly standard — nothing exceptional.
Overall, the stay had some redeeming aspects, but the room safety concerns and customer service left a lot to be desired.

We have stayed at the Limes 3 times over the last 18 months for a week at a time. The Owner (Dave) and his son (Dan) are fabulous people. We also joined the Limes for the New Years Eve party. It was such fun to see families with little ones enjoying the celebrations. Many activities for all. As with most UK hotels there is a kettle, cups, tea and milk on the ready. There is a warm and welcoming family atomosphere at the Limes!

Attended for Christmas works party. Room 9 is like being in a cupboard. Room is tiny and no kettle! For the price very disappointed.
Hall, landing and stairs where dirty and needed a good vaccumm.
The staff were lovely though, drinks reasonably priced and food was good.
Unfortunately this was the first and last time will be staying here.

Friendly helpful staff, adequate parking and a well stocked bar were probably the best features for us. The price of the stay was reasonable so this needs to be taken into account when reading the comments below:
Some of the rooms are rather gloomy. After initially being accommodated in a room with no windows and only two grubby skylights, we were moved to the "accessible" room. Seriously, I fear for people with disabilities hoping to stay there. The heating control was almost impossible to reach. Although the bathroom is large and classed as a wet room, there was little practical space for our toiletries other than the floor! The worst thing was the hand basin. Naturally it was located in a low position, but the flow of water was impossible to control, particularly when trying to change the temperature. Water sprayed everywhere! And there was no plug in that basin so could not just fill it and then use the water to wash with.
Poor access to the room with inadequate lighting outside- again bad for a disabled person.
Small niggles that are not accounted for by the reasonable price:
- some light bulbs needed to be replaced but weren't - even though we asked twice.
- the TV channels were hopelessly out of date and of course could not be updated through the usual menu.
One aspect we would congratulate David and his staff on was the special 40s night which included a very competent and talented female singing duo and the food although simple, was at least nice and hot.

Nice hotel bit expensive though as no breakfast included in the price.

This property was surprisingly quaint. All amenities in the room and the ensuite had a fabulously large bath and a large separate shower cubicle.
The bed was really comfortable.
Will definitely visit again.

Everything was perfect, the only thing I would suggest is a portable fan in the rooms as it gets exceptionally hot. Otherwise I would definitely stay there again

Was greeted by lovely lady on reception when booking in...room had everything could need for a one night stay...shower very powerful..comfortable bed....only couple negitive things. We was ground floor..there as a path running along it to gate..which was used couple time by others...and a small glazed window in it..which too our liking..also made that felt little unsafe as like to have windows open during night. Which we didnt due....othe issue..carpet and bathroom hadn't been hovered...apart from that..would stay again

Nice staff bur slow service. It was football evening and a lot of staff working but the service was really slow. Nearly an our to wait for dinner. Confusion over where you sit determines whether you go to the bar or table service for food. Room very hot and no fans provided although asked. Check out was unfriendly - breakfast waitress was doing reception and the serving so not able to provide good service and meant nobody to mention issues to. Lads outside at 11pm kicking a football around and shouting. Seems to be no awareness that they do have business clientele in who are up early the next day. Not able to contact reception although tried to inform them if the noise and to move them on. Very frustrating and an uncomfortable night. I wouldn’t recommend.
