Location about the best in Huatulco, lowest density of all the hotels we saw, above all, great staff: friendly, helpful, eager to please.
Property itself needs care and attention. Showing its age.

Easily one of the best hotels in Huatulco. I love that it's small and couple-oriented. Low season is just beginning so I got to enjoy kid-free facilities (a must for me, since I'm a single, solo traveller). My suite had a jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. The beds are incredibly comfy: I had the best sleep I've had in ages. Staff could not be any more attentive & efficient. Would no doubt book here again if I return to Huatulco.
There are some aspects that might make the property more competitive. I'm aware Quinta Real is a luxury brand, but the price for food and drinks is excessive, even for five-star hotel standards. Food is only adequate (far from delicious), so there's definitely a disconnect between the price and the actual food. Access to the beach club and the pools from the suites is inconvenient since the property is built on a hill. To mitigate this, the hotel has readily available transport, but even getting to a point where they can pick you up takes some time. Finally, the water temperature, both in the rooms and the in the pool was unacceptable: the jacuzzi and the shower had lukewarm water only, which isn't great if you're going to use the jacuzzi, and the pools aren't heated at all, so you can't really swim comfortably. All of this, however, didn't prevent from having a nearly perfect stay.

Very spacious resort with good amenities. Amazing view and well nestled into nature. You see and hear a lot of birds.
Outdated and requires maintenance and repairs.

We really enjoyed our stay at Quinta Real Huatulco. The room was spacious and comfortable, and overall the experience does feel like staying at a five-star luxury hotel. The pool is wonderful, the vegetation is lush, and the property feels like a true paradise. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing.
The staff was generally very kind and welcoming, and small touches like being invited to feed the iguanas added a unique and charming experience. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere delivers a high-end resort feeling.
The air conditioning could be better, especially given the climate.
Food prices are extremely high for Huatulco — easily two to three times more expensive than eating outside the hotel. While the food quality is good, the pricing feels excessive for the destination and makes dining on property feel unreasonable for a resort stay.
We upgraded to a private suite with a pool, but the pool lost water every day, which points to maintenance issues. Overall, the hotel feels like it was once spectacular but now shows signs of wear and insufficient upkeep.
There were also several small but important details that affected the premium feeling. Upon arrival, one of the bedside tables was missing a lamp (it was later brought). The desk had no power outlets, clearly reflecting the age of the property. When we asked for a solution, we were given a very basic extension cord, which felt out of place for a luxury hotel. Throughout the stay, it felt like we had to keep asking for things that should already be standard and properly resolved.
The check-in staff was also less flexible than expected. We requested a one-hour late check-out and were told the room was already assigned, despite the hotel being largely empty. The approach felt rigid and not very guest-oriented.

Beautiful views. Comfortable beds. Enjoyed our plunge pool. Friendly staff.
Lack of amenities. Main pool & pool bar/ restaurant, beach access very hard to get to. No fitness facility. Restaurants were expensive. Property is outdated.

Room itself was nice. We got upgraded to a deluxe king and it was spacious and had a nice view.
I would not stay here again and I wouldnt recommend anyone else stay here.
We visited the Quinta Real in Oaxaca de Juarez which was amazing and we thought we’d get more of that here. We were wrong.
The hotel feels like it’s been forgotten about by corporate. It is in desperate need of maintenance. Paint is peeling everywhere, there’s an abandoned tennis court when you pull in the gate, and it just looks overall dilapidated. It also felt like no one but us was staying at the resort. Very weird.
The food was extremely over priced (especially by Huatulco standards). A single dinner cost me almost $50 by myself. Something you would never pay in town.
Oh and the wifi didn’t work. At all. Barely in the lobby, but forget about it in your room.
I will say our room was pretty nice because Booking upgraded us. It had a nice view.
Highly recommend you avoid - not worth the price.

Beautiful hotel with so much potential
The list is endless - very very poor internet in rooms, rooms were not cleaned, room service dishes not cleared for days, beach beds were not put out for hotel guests, hotel taxis riped us off, and I can go on and on.

Best hotel we have been in Huatulco. Beautiful and spacious rooms, great swimming pools, nice personnel. Very clean. We had a great time here and would definitely come back.
Exterior building maintenance could be improved.
Restaurant is very expensive.

Location is absolutely perfect, facilities are super nice and staff was outstanding. It feels very private and exclusive all the time
Food could be a bit better, especially for the price.

The facilities and staff are incredible! It's a wonderful hotel with a beautiful, uncrowded beach. The rooms are very comfortable and large, and the bed is excellent. You can rest well, and if your plan is to unwind, you can achieve it here. Now, on the other hand, the restaurants are good but not great. Prices are very high if you consider that the food is just “ok”. I was very keen to stay in the hotel everyday to eat there, but decided to go out most dinners.

Logistics of bar service at pool could be more efficient. But staff was really kind and treated us really well.

The hotel is very lovely. The views are magnificent. The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable. The staff was always quick to attend to our needs.
Some rooms have better views than others, but I doubt they cost more. Room 120 has only a partial view of the ocean, but a terrific view of some vegetation and the carreterra nearby. I could hear traffic from our balcony. That was disappointing.

The resort is located on the beautiful Tangolunda beach and bay.
It was very easy to access nearby restaurants and attractions in the local areas.
The meals were good and all the staff were very helpful and attentive.
The menu did get a bit tiresome after 4-5 days and a daily dinner special would be a nice addition.
No happy hour events for guests to meet and mingle.

We changed to this hotel after one night at Las Brisas. It is lovely, and so much better in every way. Beautiful spot, great rooms, fabulous and accommodating staff.
No complaints. If I were being very fussy, the service at the pool could be a little slow, and is relatively expensive for lunch snacks.

We were on our honeymoon. Staff was fantastic and always very helpful. Breakfast was always very good. Restaurant was nice. since the hotel only has about 28 rooms it always felt very private and perfect for couples or honeymooners.
We had one of the suites with the private pool. Room was huge. Bathroom with a nice jacuzzi tub. 2 balconies, one with a hammock and below with the private pool. Sea views were amazing as it is on a hill.
It was a fantastic honeymoon and everything was brilliant. We will be looking to come back in the future.
The mattress was maybe a little bit too soft for our liking. Other than than everything was flawless.

Jairo and Juan were exceptionally helpful and did an amazing job during our stay. Our rooms were very clean and room service was excellent!
i requested a late check out due to our bus delay...6pm was granted but we had to pay half of daily fee, and if we stayed past 6pm, already considered a full day pay

The hotel's great location, nice suites and beautiful nature surroundings, providing a pleasant atmosphere. Previously, it had world-class services.
The deteriorated service quality. Unhygienic kitchen leading to serious illness from spoiled food. The need to eat outside the hotel due to food issues. Neglected infrastructure with non-functional appliances like the oven and waffle maker. Staff's laziness and lack of effort in the restaurant. Unreliable internet connection. Slow room service taking up to 2 hours. The price not justifying the current quality of service.

We loved the views, the property itself is positioned at the top of a hill and you get gorgeous views pretty much everywhere you look.
The service could sometimes take a long time (multiple calls to the front desk, 2.5 hours for a towel, 1 hour for coffee/toast etc.)

Room was spacious.
Our dinner was horrible. The filet minion and prawn were way over cooked, the salad was wilted, the soup had a peculiar unappetizing smell. We couldn’t eat our meals. The staff apologized and offered a discount.

Breakfast was delicious! We love the food and the view. And also they were serving what you chose, which avoids the food to be wasted. The King Suit was perfectly designed, the balcony and the huge hamak was amazing. Pool was clean. Hotel crew was very fast and helpful. Hotel was very clean and nature friendly, we could hear the birds and the waves. Every detail was thought perfectly, the furniture, the roof, the supplies, the jakuzi with an ocean view was priceless. We appreciate the good taste in every detail.
Wi-fi connection can be better.

Staff are the best: so friendly, so professional, really spoil you.
There was no chest of drawers or dressing table in the bedroom. That is really necessary as there is only one closet with a few hangers - it was not a real problem for us as we went for such a short time but it would've been if we stayed for longer. Also, I was disappointed with some of the cocktails at the beach (daiquiri and aperol spritz were not tasty and very watery) although some others were great (tamarind margarita and pina colada were very good). Finally, the hotcakes at breakfast were served with maple flavoured syrup rather than proper maple syrup: that is unacceptable in such a beautiful restaurant with such nice food: charge more if you need for the hotcakes but serve natural maple syrup please!

Beautiful hotel and setting with views, food and drinks good, staff mostly friendly.
Room too hot and unable to regulate below 25 Celsius. Reception and Maintenance wasted our time trying to diagnose and fix it after a long day of traveling when we just wanted to sleep!!!
Hotel tried to overcharge us based on inflated hotel exchange rate versus actual market exchange and had to involve the manager who eventually credited us the difference.

architecture, privacy and setting. amazing view
there is a lack of staff, so sometimes the wait times to get service are a bit long. also bed’s sheets weren’t soft.
