Rooms looking tired, mattress and pillows flat. Room cold

An overnight stay here. I booked a comfort room with a king bed and was shown to an awful room with a small double. The back panel was handing off too! I complained to reception and was eventually given the correct room. We ate at the onsite restaurant. My partner had to send back his carbonara and it was very mushy and overcooked. Breakfast was ok. I would not stay here again.

Friendly and attentive staff. Nice room. Lovely restaurant and able to sit in bar area with our dog. Very convenient as close to the motorway. Only negative point is the lack of anywhere to walk the dog.

Better than expected for a 3 star hotel. Friendly helpful staff, a good breakfast with plenty of choice and an excellent meal in the bar. The outside seating area was very pleasant and there was plenty of parking. If I was to nitpick the coffee in the bar was disappointing. Overall an enjoyable experience.

The hotel is definitely in need of a refurbishment. The rooms are extremely dated and feel very old, however our room at least felt clean.The restaurant areas are not bad, but reception and hallways also need an update. The lack of air conditioning made the room feel very warm and stale.

Food was very poor, undercooked calamari and the Ribeye steak was the worse quality I’ve ever had, considering the Marco prices , was very disappointing, Room has no aircon and very hot with no air as windows have chain locks on them , so you can only open them a couple of inches , don’t stay here on a warm day

Even though we stayed at the hotel for one night, the bed was very small for two people. We only just fit. The room had no air conditioning whatsoever and the windows would only open so far. It was very dirty and very hot as well. We dined at the hotel as well and the food was subpar for the money that you pay for it. The Staff were rude, and the hotel was dirty as a whole as well. It was very easy to find and get to. The area around the hotel was lovely. We had a lovely weekend as whole but the hotel needs some serious TLC and the food either needs to be cheaper for what you pay or the standard needs to get better. My partner had their Ragu and it was bland and tasteless and I had their burger and I genuinely thought that went to McDonalds to get it! This hotel needs to be looked at ASAP by Best Western!

The hotel was fine - the bed was a bit too hard and also too low for our liking. The Marco’s restaurant was a complete let down - but I’ve done a separate review for that! We booked the hotel with 24 hour room service - this was not available after 8:45pm - we also booked the hotel with daily housekeeping - this did not happen - our bed was unmade and we had to phone reception for fresh towels and extra refreshments - all very disappointing given that we paid extra for the executive room and expected to get what we paid for - the room was as described however the door was very stiff and had to be forcibly pushed to open & forcibly banged to shut - the bathroom & shower were very good - the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok but very basic with not a huge choice - because the hotel was quiet I think the hot food was standing for too long as they didn’t think there was a need to keep replenishing it, however it was quite dried up. As they had already set & reserved tables for dinner, the breakfast tables available were a bit too close and twice I had to get up in the middle of my meal to let someone get past our table.

The welcome at reception was good and we were able to book a table at the restaurant. We were told that the room would only be serviced if we asked specifically. We preceded to our room which had a kingsize comfortable bed, hanging space, ensuite etc. Very nice. The shower had both pressure AND temperature, which not all places have. We then realised that despite booking a five night stay, they only provided us with four tea bags and two rolls of toilet paper. Over our stay it became a bit of a joke as reception would only allow us one roll at a time so we had to return regularly for supplies. The restaurant was OK, but on one night had a limited menu and the quality wasn't great. It was much better when the full menu was on offer. So in summary, a nice place to stay and our room was very good, a few tweaks and the whole stay would have been smoother. We would visit again because of the room quality, polite and conscience staff and location.

Hotel was in a good position - easy to find. The receptionist was extremely helpful, and check in and out simple. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds. There is no housekeeping but you could request additional tea/coffee etc if needed. Lots of car parking spaces.

Issues with cleanliness caused a chest infection and coughing. Dust had collected in various areas of ducting and heating that was not maintained and serviced. Very poor and staff tried to clean but not very well and initially refused to provide me with tools to resolve. Finally I cleaned the devices and had a night coughing free.

Poor, booked for two nights only stayed one , asked for money back. Room dirty , small, shabby, bathroom mouldy and dirty. Certainly overpriced for what we were offered. We were offered other rooms one the bed was too small(we had deliberately booked for a king size as we are both tall/large people . The other room was larger , but still very shabby. The breakfast was cold, when supposed to be hot , water for tea only just warm.

After 8 hours of driving it was upsetting to be told that the room we had booked was not available as they didn’t know we were bringing a dog. The booking site emphasised the hotel’s pet friendly attitude but there was no opportunity to indicate that guests would be bringing a pet. Although they then offered an alternative room we were forced to pay £25 for bringing our dog instead of the £15 detailed in the booking site.

Room was clean and could have done with a central light source as was a little dark. Plenty of showergel, handwash and shampoo in the rooms and.the shower was ok. Bathroom was clean. Only let down was the restaurant facilities as the food at Marcos was very poor.
